Two Faults

One of the things about being a geezer is that a geezer can remember "When"...if he is not completely worn out...and so then he has another chance to have a grumpy curmudgeon moment when he hears people saying really stupid things that involve the past.   "When" is that time in the past that the broad mass of people did not experience, but about which they are expert.

We must delve into the "Tale of Two Faults".   The word "When" pertains to those two faults.  One is the fault of thinking that the Central Government should be involved in disaster relief or to believe that such has always been the case, and the other is feeling as though one is entitled to help from FEMA.   Can we not ask, "What did people do before FEMA?   AND, "Does FEMA help everybody in all the disasters?"

Nashville, Tennessee suffered extensive flooding, especially in areas close to the Cumberland River, Mill Creek, and Harpeth River.
Nashville, Tennessee suffered extensive flooding,
especially in areas close to the Cumberland River,
 Mill Creek, and Harpeth River

"When" is that time a Geezer has lived through, and knows that the people who are talking about "when" are speaking in horsefeathers.   The fact is that King George I did not have any fault when Hurricane Andrew chewed up a wide swath of southern Florida.   The press said that King George I did not "care" about the people and did not "respond" quickly enough due to his "insensitivity".  But he really had no fault, either for the hurricane or the pace of recovery.
"When" is that time that King George II is blamed for all the ill-effects of Hurricane Katrina, because the "federal government" (central government) had not moved quickly enough to help the people.   Once again, the problem was the stuctural corruption of one of the top five most corrupt cities in the United States, that being New Orleans.   The other problem was the sloth practice by Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco.

"When" is that time that Nashville, Tennessee was essentially totally inundated up to and beyond the third story throughout the city.   The Grand Ole Opry was destroyed.   The damage was in the billions, one pipe organ alone, pertaining to the Nashville Symphony Association, worth 2,330,000 dollars was destroyed.   Damage was too extensive and devastating to list in this publication.   It was a multi-State issue, affecting Tennessee, Kentucky, and Mississippi.  There were 60 people killed.
"When" is that time that Tuscaloosa, Alabama and other nearby places in the South that had a tornado outbreak in April of 2011.   Several hundred people were killed in the episode, about 120 in the trans-Tuscaloosa - Birmingham area alone.   With one visit Obama declared that he had never seen such devastation, and further declared that he had declared the area a disaster zone.
"When" is that time in Joplin, Missouri there were 160 people killed in May, 2011.  And then there was really no interest from the press or the White House, as there had been scant interest in the previous two.
"When" is that time when there was an oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.   The Obama Administration used the event to close down deep-water oil production, and to tell Bobby Jindahl that there's no problem with the loss of jobs, the people can get on unemployment and food stamps.   When Jindahl responded that the people wanted to go back to work, not welfare, the president was perturbed and confounded.   He found Jindahl's remarks disrespectful and offencive.   Nothing was done in any meaningful way by the government for months....aggravating even James Carville...!   Local action and State action, along with British Petroleum came on line first and better.   Obama and his government refused to obey various injunctions issued by Federal Judges, and is still fighting legal issues about this even to this day.

And, now we have the scene of New Jersey and New York City, with the odd polarity of affluence or lack thereof six blocks 'over there' compared to people eating out of Dempster Dumpsters and other geezers trapped on the 18th floor of the Soylent Green Waiting Rooms, trapped because there is no electricity to run the lifts.....and folks wondering if they are going to freeze in a couple of days because the union thugs do not want non-union electrical workers from the Texas and the South coming in to do repairs.   And then there is that inconvenient truth, that the  EPA would not  allowing Gulf oil tankers into closer refineries to New Jersey....because of environmental considerations.
Then we have the  Episode of Good Feelings and Reaching-Across-the-Aisle between the liberal Republican Governor Christie and the marxist president Obama solved all the problems in New Jersey....and for a while Kumbaya became the national anthem....and we could forget about the meanies at Fox who are making a big deal about the killing of some old ambassador and his buddies in some place named Ben Gauzy.    And, still, in New York and New Jersey, there is little progress towards recovery.  And the Red Cross is doing its typical job of photo-op help, while the Salvation Army is actually getting blisters and doing the work outside of the view of the photo-op crews.

"When" is remembering that at Katrina, the authorities and the people had over five days to make some kind of preparation.   They did nothing.   Like New York State and City, and the State of New Jersey....not a lot was done in terms of storing up gasoline and diesel fuel, power plants, sandbagging of tunnel and subway entrances, or any such things.  They also had about five days of warning.   The much worshipped FEMA also did nothing to anticipate any response.   All parties monitored developments, made preliminary plans, made initial preparations, etc.    They never thought about the extra 1.5 feet of additional storm surge that would accompany the simultaneous tidal surge, because of the full moon.

"When" is to remember how hundreds of school busses were left to be inundated in their parking yard in New Orleans.  One enterprising young man rounded up family and friends and went down and essentially took a school bus out and on the road to Houston.   He was carrying about 30 people, and pulled up at the place that had been mentioned as the reception point in Houston for Katrina refugees.   For their efforts of taking matters into their own hands, paying for fuel and food with their own credit cards and cash, and reporting where they had been told to report...the driver was, of course, arrested.   It's against the law to defend yourself and yours while Mayor Nagin is returning from Dallas and Governor Blanco is wondering if "....these pants make my butt look too big"...while she prepared to address a press conference, where she explained that she had not made the necessary call to the President to request the intervention of the Central Government in the levee breach floods.

But Obama is a hero because he stopped by to walk arm in arm with Christi for a moment and then pronounce, "Stop behaving like government normally does, and cut through the red tape and do something!  And that's an order!"   And then he flew off....as in the case of the Benghazi....to Las Vegas.  On Air Force One.  He's solved all the problems by giving a vague rhetorical order that would be totally unenforceable.

And yes, Virginia, my father was in the horse cavalry when he and everyone in his regiment survived essentially 2 tropical storms, 1 tropical depression, and 1 huge hurricane inside of two months in 1933 in Brownsville, Texas....when the mouth of the Rio Grande ran 100 miles wide at the Gulf of Mexico.   And, before Bush caused Global Warming/Cooling/ Climate Change, the city of Galveston, Texas was totally destroyed in 1900 by a hurricane that killed between 6,000 and 13,000 people in three hours.  Somewhere between 6,ooo and 13,000 people of a population of 30,000. Dead...many were never found.

So, Virginia, study your history well so that you cannot be fooled by fools.   And history is fun and interesting once you get into it.   I leave you at peace for a while.

La Nueva Evita is at it again

Diverging briefly to the land of the rumba and the glories of Buenos Aires, we find our Nueva Evita, the Queen Cristina of Argentina, turning away from threatening the United Kingdom with annihilation over the issue of the Falklands, and giving much deserved attention to the issue of giving  16 year=old ignorami the right to vote.

You see, the decisions made by old people affect the new people and the new people do not have any say about what the old people are trying to do to the new people.  So, in reality, The Queen of Argentina is being a moderate about this voting issue.   You see, there are a lot of people who think that the old people....like over 40 years old....should just be taken out an shot, because they are not "with it" and they don't know how to have fun, sniff glue, do graffiti, and sneak around and lie to their parents.

So, when there are these imbalances and extreme positions being taken by all sides, the Queen Cristina of Argentina proposes a moderate solution.   She assures that the old people will not be taken out and shot, but only taxed to death, thereby extending their lives for a few years that will be beneficial to those who are in need.   Those who have too much will be allowed to gradually evaporate their bounty by feeding hordes of young people so vital to Argentina, and to the freshening of the graffiti on walls long neglected by urban gangs and ruffians.   And those younger people who wish to finally have a say will be further included in the national debates.  Queen Cristina of Argentina differs with the radicals who want to extend the voting age and the age of consent down to 8 years, and she has deigned that, in the spirit of compromise, the age of 16 will be the age of qualification of electors, and the age of consent will be left on the table for further deliberation.   Perhaps consultation with the American institutions, Planned Parenthood and the National Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) will be able to provide needed guidance.

Argentina Lowers Voting Age as Fernandez Tries to Regain Footing

Fernandez has courted young voters since being elected in 2007, naming members of the government-aligned “La Campora” youth group to top positions and tapping funds from the social security agency to provide students with free laptops. Expanding the suffrage to those aged 16 and above may help build support for the government even further as the opposition tries to capitalise on growing frustration with Fernandez’s handling of the economy, political analyst Carlos Fara said. “The government believes that the more politically active young people will vote for the ruling party,” said Fara, who runs Carlos Fara & Asociados in Buenos Aires. days of her appointment with eternity when this

it was thought to be a sign from Heaven that she would
always be "with" the Argentines.   Odd, because the
word 'Argentina" means "like Silver, or land of Silver"
in the archaic Spanish of the period of the area's naming.

We further urge the OROGs to join in, during these days of All Souls and All Saints celebrations throughout Latin America with this linkage to a site that details the necrophiliac hysteria that accompanied the entire Peron - Evita period, following her death.   It has been said that if a person can be made to understand baseball, he will understand the Americans.  Likewise, if a person can possibly understand the national psychosis that is the worship of a golden mummy, a ghost of invention that is real because it is false, that "is" although it never was, that was and so will never have been....then he will understand the Argentines.
Open this linkage to "understand" the Argentines:

Perhaps, in this case, if it were not so funny, it would be sad.   But, suffice it to say, Queen Cristina is not a possessor of the charms and intellectual deftness of Maria Eva Duarte.   Although Maria Eva was a provinciana from the ranches, she had in-born 'class'....Cristina was high born to extreme upper-middle-class urban and urbane people, but she was always a Miss Flukie - type lower class, hippy, neo-commie.   And she is always and shall ever remain a Miss Flukie - type, lower class, hippy, neo-commie.    Please review again the Bloomberg identifier of issue underneath the picture of Queen Carolina of Argentina where it explains how HRH took money out of the social security fund to buy lap-tops for the "young people".  Shades of Obama's "free cellphones for foodstampers and medicaid people"....!   All pinko marxists are the same....No Boundaries....No frontiers....!   We are the 99%!

More Later, we have to catch up on why Bush didn't learn anything about how to run a disaster.   We need a Federal Agency to help all these advanced industrial sophisticated union shop people.....that way it would be free becaue the government would pay for it.

Pointless Self-serving Post

A friend...of the few such that we have, and I had a bit of a sit-down to-day at a nice little place over in the Sharyland community not far from our hideaway in downtown Mission.  We solved all the problems in the world, cussed the bad guys, and praised the good guys.   My friend is a little older than El Gringo Viejo, and he asked me if I was having difficulty remembering things.   So then I said... something about ...what was it??  What we were talking about now?

But in all seriousness, he wanted to know if my early admonition about buying things from off the pages with the little advertisements was still prohibited if the readers are family or close friends, or whatever.  My answer is that its probably better than to uslessly click onto the advertisements, because that creates a truly false impression.   There is nothing false about a purchase, I am given to understand, and that does make sense.   So if you are going to book a one month river cruise of the Danube for your family reunion of your closest 35 relatives, go ahead and click forth.  And yes, that would help El Gringo Viejo's bottom line.  But, it would still be advisable to check for good, better, best in terms of what it is that is desired and what is desired in terms of costs, etc. before anything is bought.   Sometimes there are deals and sometimes there are....whatever.   Think of yourself first, in these matters, and of us, none at all.
We have tried to filter out as much as we can of offensive or obvious schill and junk.  We have tried to make the offerrings something that is as classy as possible and as high in quality as possible while avoidings products that we deem to be coarse, vulgar, and depraved.   We negate anything that has to do with Red China, although we permit tourism offers out of Cuba.  We use the rule of thumb, "Would Mr. Rogers  and Anita Bryant want these products advertised on their blogs."

The Old Friend who was the lunch-mate is actually an old competitor back in the Excursion Company days.   We grew to appreciate each other's practices, although I would still do things my way were I ever to go back into the business.  We have clone-like political and cultural intuitions and preferences.   To show the lack of my imagination, perhaps, El Zorro is also one of the same stripe.    Each of the three personalities being compared are very, very similar in terms of catechism, old Episcopal background, wealth and poverty factors, education, rural/urban orientation, attitudes about race and ethnicity, work ethic, compliance, and such matters.   El Zorro is much further down the road in actually making guns shoot straight, computers run correctly after they become derilict, and electronic things function.....you know....doing things that actually matter.    Another pair of personalities who are very similar are my brother-in-law and my concun~o (husband of my sister-in-law)....it would be a terrible thing to do to put all five of our personalities into one small town.   It would be remade in about 4 days.   For the good of all, of course.

In any regard, feel free to click on things if you are doing it from normal motivation.   Thanks for this totally egocentric message from

"This whole hope and change thing is beginning to wear a little thin.  I told these people that they didn't build that Dumpster.  The government got it there.  But they're like a lot of white people...just like a bunch of lepers in the Bible....not one of them came to kiss my boots or throw palm fronds at my feet.   Hey!  Hey! I'm talking to you....Mr. Secret Service man...git the names of those people over there at that Dumpster"
Can you imagine those people eating that garbage?   You know, if they were at all considerate they'd give all that good food to the children and then go looking along the back porches at the projects where the pets don't eat all their Alpo or Gravy Train.  I hear it tastes better than what they serve at the Special Olympics."
Hey! Hey!   Tell those cops to stop acting stupidly.   That kid they're harrassing looks a lot like what my son would have looked like....if I had a son....They're doin' what?  Givin' him an asthma inhaler for an attack?   Well, tell them to be more careful about it anyway, because it still looks like profiling...just because he had asthma....You know, first it's an inhaler, then next it'll be waterboardin'"

The Founder of the Flukie Award Ventures on without Cutie Pants

When last we heard from Sandra Fluke, she had parlayed the worldwide fame she earned by being insulted by Rush Limbaugh into a spot on the Obama campaign. Her public appearances have been very successful, with attendance numbers sometimes breaking double digits.

Intimate gathering with @SandraFluke as local supporters drive by yelling "Go Obama!"

It was obviously "Standing Room Only" for Miss Flukie

But wait, there’s less! As Charles C. Johnson (no relation) reports:
In a candid on-camera interview two weeks ago with the campus newspaper of her alma mater, Cornell University, contraception activist Sandra Fluke explained that her agitation for free and universal access to contraception has a larger goal: removing the “barriers” of unwanted children from women’s paths to career and political success…
“If we think about what contraception means for people, it’s not only about having access to the health care that you need, and the human rights aspects of having access to health care, but it’s also about what being able to control your own reproduction does for women specifically, but for men as well,” she said.
“It allows us to pursue the educational opportunities that we hope for and to have the careers and the career trajectory that we dream of.”
It makes you feel bad for Sandra’s mom, doesn’t it? Just think how much more she could’ve done with her life if her career trajectory hadn’t been derailed because the government didn’t help her prevent Sandra. Whatever happened to women’s rights?

Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette
Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette — US Navy
Rear Adm. Charles Gaouette, a San Diego native who has climbed the ranks of the Navy over a long career, was unceremoniously removed as commander of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group in recent days. His removal comes while the Stennnis CSG is deployed in the Persian Gulf region.      The Navy did not give a clear explanation for the change, other than to say that questions had arisen about his leadership judgment. He has been sent back to his homebase in Bremerton, Washington, to await the outcome of the investigation.
(We incorrectly reported in an earlier version of this story that Gaouette was commander of the cruiser Mobile Bay.)
It is very unusual for the Navy to remove such a high ranking person from his post in the middle of deployment. The Stennis Carrier Strike Group, which features several surface ships from San Diego, has been operating with several San Diego-based vessels, including the cruiser Mobile Bay and the destroyer Dewey.
The NavyTimes.com reports that, "Vice Adm. John Miller, commander Naval Forces Central Command, made the decision to reassign the commander of Carrier Strike Group 3, even though it’s deployed to the Middle East."

NBC News interviewed Neal Zerbe, a retired Navy Capt., who told the news organization that, “The particular commander being relieved, and you know translating that to just moving him back to a continental U.S. base while the investigation continues, is unlike anything I've ever seen before.''
The strike group's vessels include the San Diego-based Mobile Bay, which has had a mixed record in recent years. The cruiser was awarded the coveted Battle "E" in 2006. But in 2011, the ship failed a major inspection, due primarily to problems with her propulsion system, aviation, operations and communication.

We are viewing this issue and the possible scapegoating of Rear Admiral Charles Gaouette with some consternation.   As NBC News...(proud partner in the Obsolete Marxist Press)...is pointing out, with the referral point being a retired Navy Captain (colonel in the real military) ...the transfer of a battle group commanding officer to Stateside during deployment for an "investigation" .....according to that Captain, "....unlike any I've ever seen before."

In that this is a minor league blog, published in the outback of the American frontier and in Mexico, we can afford the luxury of stating things more firmly and dabbling a bit in the conjectural.    Everything we publish is true to the best of our knowledge.  Conjecture we identify as such.  Quoted material we try to cite with identification of the original authors. And by saying that it is true to the best of our knowledge, we do not mean that we conveniently failed to check on the veracity of our knowledge or our sources.   We do more checking than Bill Moyers or Mr. Press or anyone on MSNBC or in the leftist press.

The main thing that troubles this writer at this time is the fact that this commander at the tip of the arrow that the American Eagle holds within his talons has been rumoured to have had a melt-down because he had assets ready to respond to the Benghazi situation and pilots and deck crews burning with hatred and adrenalin ready to risk all .....and nothing happen'd.

El Gringo Viejo, at the risk of burdening the OROGs, feels compelled to submit the following inclusion as a "fair and balanced"  summary of the issues leading up to the betrayal of American personnel on the ground in Benghazi...a procress that took about 2 months and culminated with the deaths of at least four Americans and various loyalist Libyans, as yet unrecognised in any way.    Some of this information, in fairness was derived from an assembly of "all facts"  done by a pacifist group  up North,  United for Peace, Pierce County, and in deference to their honesty in reporting some devastating truths about the preparations and realities on the ground, we are including some of their material as part of the whole.    If the OROG reads through the entirety of what we are including here, the reader will be in the 96th percentile of knowledge and comprehension of the Benghazie issue.   Suffice to say, if Nixon, Reagan, or either Bush had done what Barak Hussein Obama, Panetta, Petraeus, or Clinton have done in this issue ...those Republicans would have been facing impeachment and certain conviction within weeks.   The Obsolete Press would have spied, fried, lied, and and dumped them into the nearest Dempster Dumpster.

General Carter F. Ham, the Combatant Commander of Africa Command (AFRICOM) and a key figure in the Benghazi-gate controversy, is leaving the Army.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/robbins-report/2012/oct/29/general-center-benghazi-gate-controversy-retiring/

On October 18, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta had announced that General Ham would be succeeded at AFRICOM by General David Rodriguez. Later speculation tied this decision to the fallout from the September 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens. However on Monday October 29 a defense official told the Washington Times that "the decision [to leave AFRICOM] was made by General Ham. He ably served the nation for nearly forty years and retires after a distinguished career." Previously all that was known was that General Ham would be rotating out of AFRICOM at some future date, but not that he was leaving the service. General Ham is a few years short of the mandatory retirement age of 64, but it is not unusual for someone of that rank to retire after serving in such a significant command.

The questions concerning General Ham's role in the September 11 events continue to percolate. Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Utah Republican, said that General Ham told him during a visit to Libya that he had never been asked to provide military support for the Americans under attack in Benghazi. Former United States Ambassador to the U.N. John R. Bolton also mentioned Mr. Chaffetz's account, and contrasted it with Mr. Panetta's statement that General Ham had been part of the team that made the decision not to send in forces. "General Ham has now been characterized in two obviously conflicting ways," Mr. Bolton concluded. "Somebody ought to find out what he actually was saying on September the eleventh."

No word yet on when General Ham's rotation or retirement take effect.

STENNIS COMMANDER REASSIGNED TO BREMERTON
Bermerton (WA) Patriot
October 30, 2012

The Navy has approved a request by Vice Adm. John W. Miller, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command to temporarily reassign the commander of the USS John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group.
Rear Admiral Charles M. Gaouette, commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 3, will return to the strike group's home port of Bremerton pending the results of an investigation by the Navy Inspector General.
The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Middle East.
Gaouette's Chief of Staff, Capt. William C. Minter, will lead the strike group until the arrival of Rear Adm. Troy M. Shoemaker, who will assume command until the matter is resolved.
Shoemaker has served as Commander, Carrier Strike Group 9 and deployed with the Abraham Lincoln Strike Group.

PRESIDENT OBAMA SHOULD BE IMPEACHED

By Craig Buchanan
Walla Walla (WA) Union-Bulletin
October 30, 2012

Commander-in-Chief Obama is no leader and fires those who lead.

He fired Adm. Charles Gaouette, commander of the USS John Stennis (aircraft carrier) Strike Group (Mediterranean), for moving the fleet closer to Libya during the Benghazi consulate attack and launching armed aircraft to orbit for close air support. Also fired was Gen. Carter Ham, commander of African Command, for preparing ground forces to go into Libya to protect the consulate.

These officers had received messages that this was a terrorist attack and were reacting accordingly. Commander-in-Chief Obama's conscious decision to do nothing because of political concerns was a disgrace to all who defend or have defended our country. He will never be respected by our military.

Apparently, President Obama had access to the massacre in real time and then fled the White House to fund raise in Las Vegas. The two former SEALS were ordered to "stand down" but ignored the order. General Ham's quick reaction forces were ready to deploy and was ignoring Department of Defense standdown orders when he was relieved of command during the battle.

Why does President Obama continue to lie to the American people about the Benghazi consulate massacre? Perhaps, because this situation is worse than what happened to two earlier presidents.

President Nixon resigned rather than face impeachment for Watergate. President Clinton was impeached for lying to a federal judge. President Obama's decision to deny the consulate's request for additional security before and during the massacre and write-off the deaths of four Americans for political purposes, make Nixon's and Clinton's actions appear as misdemeanors.

President Obama was derelict in his duty as commander-in-chief of the armed forces and should be impeached. Incidentally, Obama's cohorts in the American press are co-conspirators for failing to expose these actions.

BENGHAZI ATTACK: URGENT CALL FOR MILITARY HELP 'WAS DENIED BY CHAIN OF COMMAND'
By Bred Knickerbocker

** Fox News and others report that military help was available during the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, but denied. CIA and Pentagon officials strongly deny the claim. **
Christian Science Monitor
October 27, 2012

Citing “sources who were on the ground” in Benghazi, Libya, Fox News is reporting that an urgent request for military help during last month’s terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate there “was denied by the CIA chain of command.”

The attack, on the anniversary of 9/11, killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three embassy personnel, including two former Navy SEALs working as security contractors.

Among other things reported in some detail, Fox asserts that a Special Operations team had been moved to U.S. military facilities in Sigonella, Italy -- approximately two hours away -- but were never told to deploy.

“The fighting at the CIA annex [in Benghazi] went on for more than four hours -- enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.”

This latest report comes as the Obama administration continues to fend off criticism that it misunderstood (or deliberately misled in its public statements) what was happening in Benghazi, including the extent to which al Qaeda or its affiliates were involved in the attack.

Writing last week in the conservative *National Review* online, former Marine Corps officer and Reagan administration senior Pentagon official Francis “Bing” West outlined much the same scenario as Fox News, including a timeline of events in Benghazi.

“Fighter jets could have been at Benghazi in an hour; the commandos inside three hours,” Mr. West wrote. “If the attackers were a mob, as intelligence reported, then an F-18 [Navy fighter jet] in afterburner, roaring like a lion, would unnerve them. This procedure was applied often in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Conversely, if the attackers were terrorists, then the U.S. commandos would eliminate them. But no forces were dispatched from Sigonella.”

“For our top leadership, with all the technological and military tools at their disposal, to have done nothing for seven hours was a joint civilian and military failure of initiative and nerve,” writes West, a Vietnam combat veteran who has reported extensively on U.S. combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. “Secretary of State Clinton has said the responsibility was hers. But there has been no assertion that the State Department overruled the Pentagon out of concern about the sovereignty of Libyan air space. Instead, it appears passive groupthink prevailed, with the assumption being that a spontaneous mob would quickly run out of steam.”

CIA and Obama administration officials have been quick to rebut such critical news reports.

CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood denied to Fox the claims that requests for support were turned down.

"We can say with confidence that the Agency reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi," she said. "Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate. In fact, it is important to remember how many lives were saved by courageous Americans who put their own safety at risk that night -- and that some of those selfless Americans gave their lives in the effort to rescue their comrades."

At a press conference this week, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said the U.S. military did not quickly intervene during the attack because military leaders did not have adequate intelligence information and felt they should not put American forces at risk, reports the Associated Press.

"The basic principle is that you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on; without having some real-time information about what's taking place," Mr. Panetta told Pentagon reporters. "And as a result of not having that kind of information, the commander who was on the ground in that area, Gen. Ham, Gen. Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation."

Panetta was referring to Gen. Carter Ham, the head of U.S. Africa Command, and Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress are pressing their case for more information.

In a letter to President Obama Thursday, House Speaker John Boehner questioned whether the White House considered military options during or immediately after the attack, and he questioned what the president knew about the security threats in the country. He said that the national debate over the incident shows that Americans are concerned and frustrated about the administration's response to the attack.

"Can you explain what options were presented to you or your staff, and why it appears assets were not allowed to be pre-positioned, let alone utilized? If these reports are accurate, the artificial constraint on the range of options at your disposal would be deeply troubling," Rep. Boehner wrote.

In the above inclusion, that part that has been coloured in red has been found to be, through deceit or incompetence, untrue.  It is all part of the septic mess this entire Benghazi situation has become.   It is of interest that classified material can pour out to the public about the Usama bin Ladin take-down as if it were a Niagara Falls of information....much of it classified and needlessly released....within minutes and hours of the event.    It is also of interest that we have pictures of the president in the "situation room" helping all of the victims of the Storm Sandy....within minutes and hours of the president's gracing a chair in that room....but about Benghazi...nothing....we are waiting for the results of the investigation...an investigation that will never be released unless it can prove that everything was George Bush's fault or an error on the part of the military.

We commend this information to the the interest of the OROG.   Thanks for your attention and time invested with us.   Your numbers grow daily, and we are humbled by your kind interest.
