A Beginning of a series of reports and opinions about Mexican and American political events...recent and future

_________________

The meaning of the Mexican by-elections, 6 June 2016:

The results of the fourteen States elections were, to be sure and certain, a total loss for the venerable but severely dysfunctional Partido de la Revolucion Institucional (PRI) A few battles were won.  Some allegiances and multi-party arrangements helped them a bit, but the opposition, left and right, managed to convincingly win the war.

The leading force in this "retaking" of the general political landscape was, thankfully, the Partido de Accion Nacional (PAN), Mexico's bulwark conservative party.   Suffice to say, it is a party with as many complications as the American Republican Party, with as many thin slices and types of conservative thinking as we have.   In this episode, however, there were obvious signs that they were able to  unify forces in mid-battle, and win, win, win.

Tamaulipas, the State wherein our little home is found, has voted the "government party" way since the Mexican Revolution.  Even during the hiatus of the PAN's holding the Presidency from 2001 - 2013, the PRI managed to hold onto various of "their States", such as Tamaulipas and its neighbour to the South, Vera Cruz State.   Both of those States have not known a governor from any opposition party for over eighty years.

We cite Tamaulipas, for one reason, because of its proximity as a border state to Texas.  It is also a powerful agricultural State....sorghum, honey, valencia orange, industrial and fine limes, ranching, and now even forestry.   It is a major....let us say, very major....industrial State with massive maquiladora outlays employing nearly 300,000 Mexicans.   There are also an estimated 30,000 Americans (Texans, primarily) who are directly or indirectly employed or tied into these industrial concerns.
Massive fishing and major maritime shipping concerns, petroleum / natural gas operations and refining, and terrestrial transportation (freight and human) are folded into an economy that does in a week what the "workers' paradise" of the Castros cannot do in a year, even with three times the population.
Francisco Javier Garcia Cabeza de Vaca,
Gobernador-electo, Tamaulipas, Mexico

On top of these figures, one must also point out that 31 of the 43 counties of the State of Tamaulipas voted PAN for the office of Presidente Municipal (County President)....including Reynosa where a female PAN president was voted in to head the local government of Tamaulipas's largest city (1,000,000 population).  In all, eight of the largest ten cities/counties went for the PAN.
To further show the sociological impact of this vote, twelve of the fifteen smallest counties voted PAN.

The newly elected governor-to-be won the election with 51 per cent of the vote, with his nearest opponent gaining about 35 per cent.  The depiction of Garcia-Cabeza de Vaca we have placed here, speaks to the emblem drawn his maternal surname, Head (or skull) of a Cow.
The surname is associated with a famous character from the Spanish Colonial Period, Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca (1490 - 1558) who was a survivor along with his valet-slave of a shipwreck probably just north of what is now present day Corpus Christi, Texas.   He and his Man Friday Esteban (an Arab), and two other Spaniards survivors of the maritime misadventures, dealt with very un-whiteman friendly Indians...but amicably and successfully in the final analysis....and walked from their 'point of disembarkation' all the way to a Spanish outpost presidio in a place that would become the international urban complex of Juarez - El Paso in these times.
Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca's two surnames indicate that he was most certainly carrying large amounts of Sephardic Hebrew genetic material in his genes.  He was also a Spanish aristocrat, adventurer, and lived a good a prosperous life.....with setbacks and success.  He is a combination of El Cid and Don Quijote, (and let me add Jose de Escandon y Hilguera, 1700 - 1770, Conde de la Sierra Gorda y Governor-General of Nuevo Santander), a true and noble aristocrat as well as a type of liberal do-gooder (for his time).

We close this analysis with a bit about neighbouring Vera Cruz State.   There an alliance with the centre-left Partido Revolucionario Democratico allowed the PAN to carry the State against the PAN candidate's own first cousin being the "official" PRI candidate.  The PRI candidate was working with an alliance of four other smaller left-wind and "environmental" parties.   There the PAN carried the vote very substantially, spite of the fact that the PRI candidate declared victory on election day, early and often...but finally accepted that the PAN had won a decisive victory.

Why the alliance between the right-wing PAN and the left-wing PRD?  Primarily because the PRD required only to be allowed to continue governing, if they were to win, in the counties where they had been installed and done good to excellent local municipal where there have been noteworthy community advances and improvements.   There are, to be sure, about ten or so such places in Vera Cruz State.   The PRD in Vera Cruz is decidedly un-like the near-Stalinist PRD's national complexion or the spin-off....Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's Partido Moreno (Brown Party).   Lopez Abrader is an old lefty warhorse who led the PRD to defeat in two presidential elections.  He was also famous for having caused traffic chaos in Mexico City for months, leading useless occupations of major traffic arteries and plazas.

Finally, these by-elections might well become the coup-de-grace of the PRI.  The reconstitution of the revitalised National Action Party (PAN), showing a growing maturity, a defined and understandable mission, and really fine candidates seems to be prepared to re-assume governance and the willingness to continue the disassembly of the organised crime elements.

There will be much more to-morrow, especially about the issues facing the American electorate.

Heading south to our place in Mexico

_____________________

We shall be heading out to-morrow to the Quinta Tesoro de la Sierra Madre during what should be some interesting times.  On June the 4th there will be by elections held in 14 of the States of Mexico, including my State, that being Tamaulipas.   We are in the middle of a massive surge in agricultural, fabrication, and transportation boom which has impulsed quite a bit of parallel activity in construction....private and public....domestic and commercial....and educational, like medical school expansions etc.

The relative prosperity and the tightening down on the remnant groups that are now pestering the general society since the breakdown of the cartel organisations seems to portend well for the old ruling party, the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI).  Their problem is the popularity of a present Senator to the National Congress from the State of Tamaulipas, who name is Francisco Javier Garcia Cabeza de Vaca.
His campaign logo is, as one might guess,  the skull and horns of a longhorn....underscoring the fact that he is generally known by his second (maternal )surname Head of a Cow.   He was a very popular municipal president / mayor of Reynosa, which became the largest city in the State during his term of office.   He was born in McAllen, Texas and generally educated there and in Mexico and universities in Texas.   He was the first National Action Party figure to win a major city/county race in Tamaulipas, and appears to be heading for a victory in the race for governor of the State.

Pre-election polling is a bit spread out...but the more reliable ones seem to indicate that he may well be elected, thereby creating another first.  We shall watch with great interest.  The fourth of June will be a dry day in terms of beer and liquor sales.   People will also be on edge to see if the disparate bands of leftover gangs who have lost any control and order from the old cartel bosses might try to create an "incident".   So the times they be interesting, and we shall inform everyone upon return of how which cow ate what cabbage.

Concerning the event of the week, perhaps, although it was generally un-noticed by the wise-ones, must have been the nomination of the Libertarian Party Presidential candidate.   He is already scoring 11% in polling and has taken certain moves to increase that percentage so as to qualify for a place in the nationally televised debates.   It might well make things interesting down the road.

More upon my return,

Another Potpourri of thoughts and notions - we shall be brief, promise

_________________

This will be one of those potpourri types of write ups. Beginning now.   Please do not associate the demonstrators at Trump events with anything beyond an extension of the mendacious and totally scripted posturing of every marxist-nihilist-anarchist grouping on Planet Earth.
The reason there are those, feigning serious emotional injury, waving Mexican flags at these events is to cause the knee-jerk Archie Bunker reaction to such a thing.   "Well if you want Mexico better than America, then go back to Mexico you worthless ingrate....blah, blah".
The people doing this and similar acts I have seen all over Mexico doing the same thing, and even burning the Mexican flag.   Why?   Because they want all businesses nationalised.   They want free food for the poor.   They want the rich to pay 90% income tax.  They want the original laws in the Constitution of 1917 prohibiting the right to vote to Roman Catholic (and certain other) clerics to hold property, or appear in public in sacred frock or raiment (even collars).
They demonstrate for "justice", "dignity of the working class", "freedom from oppression"....and they leave behind police horses blinded by the acid that has been thrown in their eyes, plate glass windows of store...windows that cost 10,000 pesos per plate....knock out by the hundreds....at MacDonald's, at banks, at anywhere.   Autos set on fire, police and soldiers dripping with fecal matter and urine from bags thrown by the "students" who are "only looking for a chance to redress their many grievances, of course in a peaceful way".
It is the same world-wide.   The Occupy Wall Street maggots with lice are found throughout Europe....they smoke dope, they copulate, they steal, they are paid frequently by Soros-type backers to "demonstrate spontaneously", and they always....always....refer to themselves as students.   Many OROGs may remember the write-ups El Gringo Viejo did about the Iguala, Guerrero matter.  During the disorders, elements of the "students'' who were actually "professors" at the government's "normal university for teachers" sent one of the students to firebomb a PEMEX full-service station with adjunct convenience store.  The student threw his Molotov-cocktail successfully at a premium-fuel pump, resulting in a massive, immediate conflagration.   A retired lieutenant of the Mexican Navy, retired honourably and partner of the business and its hands-on manager...a really fine place...clean....excellent service....grocery store prices in the convenience store....clean restrooms....You know...Navy....went to put out the blaze with two medium-sized canisters.  A secondary, moderately large flameout caught him.
The Lieutenant (retired) died three days later in a very fine hospital in Mexico City with a division specialising in fire and acid burns....died.  Leaving wife and children.   The American, European, and Mexican leftist press did not give a damn.

So El Gringo Viejo requests that the OROG, who is of a higher order of intelligence and discernment, remember that the useless pieces of fungus on camel vomit who were demonstrating at the Trump rally are paid "confrontationists".   Please do not allow them to have "earned" their money.

__________________________

Next:    The OROGs know that, if anything, your humble servant could possibly be charged with being pro-Japanese.  My experience with the Japanese began after World War II.  My Southern and sainted grandparents admonished me to always be nice to "northern people" because, as my grandmother would say,"None of them had much if any a hand in The War."   I had to assume that Japanese were no worse than Yankee bluecoats.

My father and other farmers went to guarantee the patriotism and fielty of the Japanese - ancestried people who were fellow farmers here in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, by paying a bond if necessary to avoid any "internment".  They blamed the whole internment thing on Roosevelt's racism.   And they were right.
BUT, while not repudiating any of the above....it will never be appropriate for an American President to visit the Hiroshima or Nagasaki sites so long as President is still in office.   If he/she wishes, he/she can visit the places under concern after leaving office.   In no case should an American, an American official, especially an American holding high office remotely infer an apology concerning the atomic-bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

John Wayne never served in uniform.  Had he served, I would imagine he would have been a good Soldier or Marine.   Maybe even exceptional and highly decorated.
He did say one set of lines in a movie, however, that this observer has always remembered.   It was a scene wherein he was admonishing his platoon of Marines that,"....I'd like to tell you that we are going in to confront a stupid and cowardly enemy.  But...."

The Japanese, though battered, still had 10,000,000 well-trained troops in China, mainly in the east of China.   They were making their way back to the Homeland, and preparations were being made for the crossing over to the homeland, via devices ranging from fishing boats to canoes.   Do not ask me how...but we need to remember that if had been seven Japanese on Gilligan's Island they would have been in Honolulu in time for Happy Hour at the Magic Ukulele Beach Saloon.
My father always used an ethnic joke when people were damning the "Japs"....he would ask, "Do you know what a Japanese retardate is called?"....everyone is either silent or left without response...."They are called geniuses, like Jews".   It was a very good joke....and all good humour is based in truth.

With all this said, and acknowledging the back-door deal made by Theodore Roosevelt about dividing the world up so that the Japanese would have hegemony over their "obvious inferiors" in the Orient, the Second World War was brought on.  There were many and sundry exit doors presented to both the Japanese and the assembly of Occidental countries and governments.

We in McAllen remember Tsuneo Yahiti who was the Japanese exchange student.  He looked very similar to  Kyu Nakamoto (all Orientals look alike? No, not really)....and he was the epitome of the staid, elegant, Japanese gentleman.....almost excessively polite.   "Tsuneo, you don't have to do that.  You are too concerned about offending...''   And he would respond, " Yes, madam, but I know no other way".  Tsuneo had less hair that Kyu.  Several hundred went to the airport in McAllen to see him off. Many were crying....yes, even men.   Tsuneo was a treasure to the Empire of Japan....in defeat or in prosperity.
BUT!   Forever and a day.....we as Americans, even Americans who admire the Japanese as do I, we must remember.... No Pearl Harbour, No Hiroshima......No Pearl Harbour, No Nagasaki.   A personality as base as Barry Soetoro has no right or authority to represent America at that place (Hiroshima), or at Pearl Harbour for that matter.   And, further, anything he says there reeks of nothingness save self-promotion.   It is almost as if he is advising all, "I shall be the new President of the General Assembly of the United Nations. I am the President, therefore of the World."

Certainly for people as agile intellectually as the Japanese, a phone call to or from the high command and the Emperor....could have avoided that final act of confrontation.  The error of the Japanese was the same as Lincoln's when he determined to bring on the "Inevitable" by trying to re-supply Fort Sumpter in Charleston Harbour.   For that error Lincoln paid with the lives of almost 500,000 union soldiers, many of whom were impressed (forced military draft) Irish, stepping off the boat in New York and others who had nary a generation in the American panoply of problems and solutions.

There shall be more about this and other topics during the next few days.

How These Things Happen - Please read to the last paragraphs

________________________

One looks around at the shambles left behind by this ridiculous political process we have inflicted upon ourselves.   After all the centrifuging, filtering, and vituperation we have wound up with the two worst candidates possible.  Perhaps a minor miracle will occur and sanity can suddenly and silently move over the land, as did the Angel of the Passover.

This time it would not be for the taking of the first-born.....but rather for the reprogramming of the brains and souls of humankind so as to think with discernment, compassion, and reason.   We are left, for the moment, with one candidate who is a chronic pathological liar.  She is a ''progressive" cum marxist in her dead rock that passes for a soul.  She is a consumptive narcissist....psychotic is too kind a word.  She is hopelessly devoid of vision, purpose, or concern for anything beyond herself.

The quick comparisons to Evita, or Catherine the Great, or Queen Victoria, or whoever are silly.   We have even heard one deluded member of the Obsolete Media declare that she is the "evolved improvement of Lady Thatcher or Golda Meir"....????
Lady Thatcher, to the best of my knowledge, was never involved in so many cases of rape and murder, on a peripheral or closer manner, to the best of my knowledge.   Lady Thatcher was also a woman who cared more for her Queen and Flag than for herself.   (We can just imagine Lady Thatcher assuring some distraught Briton mother, "Don't worry, we are going to catch that person who made that horrible video.")

Then we have a film-flam man who cannot speak in a complete paragraph without contradicting himself.  Our esteem for the National Rifle Association dropped from 91% to around 19%....perhaps an 11%, when they awarded "The Donald" with an endorsement.

Think of it.  Some of the wisest political and cause thinkers in the history of republican democracy endorse a carnival barker.   Less than three days later, when asked if he would support teachers being armed in the classroom,  in one disjointed paragraph (Trumpian paragraphs are difficult to demarcate), Trump managed to affirm and deny, twice, that he did or did not think that a classroom teacher should or should not be allowed to be armed or not, maybe.
So the bluster and bravura of "Why the French who are disarmed should not be the example for Americans;   we cannot point out to nutters and Islamic kooks where their best hunting grounds are by posting "Gun Free Zone" where families eat, children attend school, and people gather for innocent diversion" means nothing or less.   This (in blue) is a very good paraphrasation, that exemplifies that all of Trump's commitments, promises,  pledges, and 'lines in the sand' will probably all become piles of litter on the side of life's road.

The body politic listen to gibberish and hear what it wants to hear.  Klanners  are convinced that The Donald will expulse all Mexicans from the United States.   Further he will make the Republic of the United States of Mexico pay for the expulsion and prohibit the future or re-entry by Mexicans into the United States of America by building a wall, which will be paid for my the Mexican government.

As conservative as Texians are, when the discerning among us hear this camel vomit, we know for certain that Trump has the vision of a 12-year old, playing some kind of computer game.   Texas has firm, tough, and perhaps even meany-poo conditions that cause Mexican leftist activists ulcers.  Texas has ceased giving full-scale birth certificates to women who come across obviously to deliver an anchor-baby so that mommy can live on 40,000 dollars of public assistance while she watches telenovelas and the Gringos take care of her "special needs" baby.  We give some other kind of document that does not infer or confer citizenship.   Catholic Charities and all the other Liberation Theologists and ACLU-nutters declare that this is a violation of "basic human rights."
The professional marxist-wave movement says this is a violation of human rights.  But, for instance, the Mexican government says that I must be fluent in Spanish to speak and write and do official business and that I cannot do about 50 things in order to be a foreigner who owns property in Mexico.   Among other things, I cannot actively campaign for any candidate...left, right, or indifferent.   I comply, because I am in a foreign country by my own choice, and respect the laws of that country.   To this point, the Mexican officialdom  has complied with their obligations of leaving me alone, providing some reasonable semblance of social order with a AAA - minor league, at times major league, military, and keeping a conduit open for the delivery and availability of products, made in Mexico or the United States and then the other 3% of UN members, and clean drinking water, public health initiatives, and so forth.
Life is pleasant for this Gringo  while in Mexico because of the civility and conviviality of the Mexicans who surround this Gringo....and I request nothing from the government beyond what they are doing.  El Gringo Viejo does not want and will not accept anything that is beyond what is provided for and  by the common Mexican.

LAST Short PARAGRAPHS:

Please beware.  The "common" OROG is substantially towards the upper-scale in terms of native intelligence.  So, I shall beg permission point out the obvious to underscore the head-scratching and wonderment that the OROG is going through after watching the  disorders in New Mexico brought on by gangs, thugs, and professional ''social justice" brown-shirts who are under the control of SCIU, Soros, and the general marxist / nihilist movement in Mexico, Canada, Europe, and the United States.

One of the reasons they burn American flags and use Mexican flags to accentuate their "protests" is that they know the instinctive, gut reaction of any real American is revulsion and anger.  DO NOT ALLOW THEM THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING YOU AND YOURS AS THOUGH YOU ARE FIDDLES.

These same people are trained up to push their women into the police lines. They throw feces and urine-filled bags at the police and their horses, vehicles, and accoutrements.  It is what they do in Europe, Latin America, and now in America....it is an extension of the "Occupy Wall Street" nihilists.

Remember, these are the same people, on a first cousin basis in cultural and ethnic terms, who brought us the issue of the "43 Students of Iquala".  They were killed and burned by their own masters....so the leftist Mexican, and all the foreign press blames THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT.
The problem?  There is not one iota of any kind of proof...processes done by Argentine, American, Mexican, Swiss, and French forensics specialists...that has been able to establish any reasonable explanation beyond the fact that the same leftist politicians who ran Iquala and environs and who were involved deeply in the trafficking of meth, cocaine, and heroin...were responsible for the ordered murder and reduction to beyond recuperation of the bodies of the ''activists".
The disorders of Chilpancingo (capital of the State in Mexico  where Acapulco is situated) ....the Iguala matter....everything that is being done at this time on the North American Continent by leftists and anarchist activists is being backed by the Mitterrand Estate (number-one financier of "Sub-comandante Marcos" of Chiapas "Indian Revolt" fame) and the Soros complex.   The ACORN movement, the SCIU people, are all part of it.  Trump gets along with these folks, he is part of them as an acolyte of Alinsky.....(it's a business thing you know, you pay for protection)....and (Sir Edmund)Hillary either knows nothing about these things or does know and could care less.

FINALLLY:

So, considering all the above, I think that my intellectual value is mediocre, perhaps even high-mediocre.  My life's experiences cause me to fear that the American voter and citizen is unaware that we are not sheep and goats to be cared for, sheared, at times slaughtered, and bred for wool and meat.   If the Americans want a President who will do things for them, and provide their meat and keep, then all is lost.    Both of the candidates of the two "major parties" believe that they can buy votes and attain residence, and play"King for a Day" in a big  white house,  for a while.

This observer has tired of this mess.  Texas must retire from this mess.

We have a slightly greater GNP than Mexico or Argentina and we have many fewer people.  We are equal to Canada, and we have only  1 / 12th the land area and claims of such land area.

We have a clunky Constitution that has the lessons from the American Constitution, Reconstruction, Spanish Law, English Common Law, and a process for its amendment by approval via a plebiscite of qualified electors.
I genuinely do not wish to be ruled by people who have called themselves Conservatives and who act as Rationalists.   Even less, I shan't choose to be governed and ordered by people who are worse than King George III in terms of understanding that the Human Spirit wishes to be free....to glorify the Heavens....or at times to wallow in the temptations of Hell.

We retire to contemplate the moments of these moments.  We
pray for the health of the survivours of the coming  collapse.  Pray for the re-establishment of the Republic of Texas.
