one of those moments of tranquillity the Administration can tout.

Heading South on Tuesday

    On Tuesday morning, we shall be heading down to the Quinta Tesoro de la Sierra Madre for an extended stay, probably three weeks or so.  We have numerous projects, all very small, and thankfully not needing material or extra "maestros" to assist.   Alvaro will take advantage of this to go down to Xicotencatl, Tamaulipas to tend to his properties and his "retirement home".  He will usually go down there, saying he is coming back when I leave to go back to Texas, but normally after 10 or 12 days, he will call and ask if everything is alright.

 

     El Gringo Viejo learned that instead of saying "Si, si, esta' bien todo.", it was better to say, "I have a problem with the toilet tank lever, and I cannot find the special tijeras jardineras  (garden scissors).  Of course, a bit of "Your dog, Bebe just lays there all day by the gate waiting to see if you are going to come back".

    Alvaro will immediately say, "Don't worry, I'll be there to-morrow, in the early afternoon."   And, actually it is better, because we seem to accomplish an immense amount of "proyectos" in terms of doctoring scratches in the walls, loose sockets, washing throw rugs, re-arranging closets, airing and sunning sheets and other bedding, waxing tile floors, dusting the cane ceiling (a real chore, but worth it), doctoring the animals for ear mites...the dogs for fleas and ticks.   For some reason, the three cats never have any trouble with the fleas.

 

    Alvaro is immensely patient with El Gringo Viejo.  He is only 5'5" and 130 pounds at the most, but, quite frankly, although we are the same age, he can pick up more weight and carry it further than I can....at 6' 2" and 180 pounds.  He also does not wear glasses, but can read all but the skinniest, tiny print.  In the beginning Diana took offense because he had this fixation about rubbing everything down with red oil, and mopping the floors with diesel oil.  We still use diesel oil, mixed with Fabuloso on the floor, but Alvaro no longer puts red oil on the toilet seat, or television, or on the light bulbs.

 

     The other strong suit about Alvaro Huerta Balboa is that he keeps very accurate accounts.  He also prohibits that I contribute to anything.  He says he will do the contributing because he knows if the contribution will wind up in the proper cause.   For quite a while now, the Ejido Water Commission has not come to ask for "financing" some major repair or reworking of a water line.  To have a pump rebuilt can run a couple of thousand pesos, and it injures our operations when the "Comisario" comes to ask if I can front the money so that the west people or the east people on the line can have water to-morrow.

    We have always dug up the cash, but it leave us in the place where we have to go to Victoria in order to buy anything, and buying means always having to use the credit card.   Everything in the Ejido Francisco I. Madero is cash, and the smaller the bills and coins the better.  There is very little change.

     We should point out as well that every advance of repair and/or replacement money we have "proffered" has always been paid back within a week to a month.   At times water people will even mark our water bill (40 pesos/month - about 3.2o USD) paid for a quarter, as a courtesy.  There was another person a Latin lady, an American,  whose mother was very elderly, around 100 years old, who built a house near the Hacienda de Santa Engracia, and she would help out with public utility repairs, being somewhat well-to-do.   But, with the disorders from about three years ago, she stopped coming down, and her mother passed on a while back.  The lady had moved her mother down to the Santa Engracia area and build quite a nice two-story house there because as she pointed out, it was cheaper than a nursing home, and the rustics in the area thought nothing about diving in and taking care of the old girl, as if she were a grandmother of their own.   Many of the women in the ejido have "basic-plus" nursing skills from having attended public health seminars during the vaccination times when the Health Department comes out to do the shot batteries.

     Anyway, Alvaro is a blessing...even if sometime I have to grind my teeth and bite my tongue....and we would have been much worse off without him.

 

In any regard, Tuesday we shall leave.  I shall continue to try to find a chat room with a faster connection, and thereby maintain some reasonable contact with my people on OROGlandia.

The frequency of 90 degree days in the US has been plummeting for 80 years, and 2014 has had the lowest frequency of 90 degree days through July 23 on record. The only other year which came close was 1992, and that was due to dust in the atmosphere from Mt Pinatubo.

     German Chancellor Merkel finds out that Bommie is eavesdropping on her office.  The response?   She advised Bommie Soetoro that if he does it again, she will attach a vacuum cleaner hose to his nose and suck his brains out and feed the to the pigs.  The pigs protest, but Merkel stands firm.

     Following Bommie's great success at the Battle of Benghazi, the United States of America withdraws it Embassy presence, all Embassy officials, from Libya's capital, Tripoli after weeks of insistence by the War Department.   The entire Embassy staff under the guard of a Marine detachment of 70 - 80 Sappers, and several F - 16s patrolling their path, they make their way to the citadel of Bommie Tranquility, Tunisia.

       Tunisia used to be a nice little backwater place before Bommie made things better during his apology tour shortly after seizing the Presidency of the United States under false pretence.  Before long, it is probable that Islamic terrorists will destroy this little picture postcard nation with a long and proud history, some good dates, and a bit of reasonable thinking in the Arabic world.   It will be gone soon.

    Herman Munster travels to Israel to force peace upon the irascible Hebrews who take offense to rockets being lobbed into their midst on a continuing basis.  The kidnapping and murder of three Jewish teenagers by Hamas thugs, plus the certain intelligence that Hamas fighters intend to launch a full-scale offensive to once and for all destroy the Jewish State on the date of the up-coming Jewish New Year prompt the Israelis to  finally strike back at Hamas in Gaza en force.
      When the fight begins and is joined by the best Hamas can throw at the Israelis, it is apparent that the Hamas fighters are once again outmatched in terms of valour, preparedness, ability, and equipment.   The Egyptians enter and broker a reasonable truce.  The Jews agree, but the Hamas leaders say no....because for them it is necessary to really being the part of the one battle that they can win.  Mendacious Propaganda.

     Hamas will begin to mislead, misdirect, and force their own people into areas they know the Israelis will probably cannonade, bomb and strafe with the IDF air power on hand, or take apart with IDF infantry in the next few minutes.   In this manner the United Nations, Miss USA - 2010, all the leftists in the world, CNN and the remainder of the vehemently Jew-hating Obsolete Press, and Selena Gomez.

     The Obsolete Press does not point out to the low-information and low-intelligence people who compose their audience that the Egyptians arrange a peace agreement and the Jews agreed but Hamas said no.  As the fighting continues, since there is no chance of victory, and since the leaders of the military effort of Hamas have taken refuge in places far from the fighting, it appears that Hamas promise to bury the Israelis in the Mediterranean again, has, again, turned into a disaster.  Hamas can celebrate, however, that they managed to kill about a thousand of their own people because of their own craven disrespect for human life.   And it is, after all, another great success of Bommie's presidency....the Oceans have begun to recede, and America is a more respected place.....(?)

      Then drunken Russian-backed militia fighting to destabilise the Ukraine drop a civilian airliner from the sky, with 300 dead the result.  They do it with a  Russian provided BUK anti-aircraft missile battery.    Bommie forcefully states that this is unacceptable.  He boldly fails to bring together NATO, he avoids pushing the Euros into a wall of rejection of the Russian swagger, bullying, and aggression.   He does not open up the Keystone Pipeline operation, and then advise the Euros that they will not lack for one drop of oil, nor one cubic yard of natural gas presently imported from the vodka-sotted Ruskis.  The United States, and especially the United States, Canada, and Mexico are in the position of essentially controlling and guaranteeing oil and gas to anyone who might need some, at reasonable market prices.  But that would take work, and work takes away from fund raising trips and leisurely hours on the golf course.

    Then Bommie has the great victory of the Battle of Damascus, where Bommie outdoes Lawrence of Arabia by inspiring all the Arabs to overthrow the horrible dictator, Bashir Assad.  Another great success, like all the rest, in style, flourish, speeches, and fluffle ....sound and fury, signifying nothing, I think is the correct description....and the entire area left with hundreds of lines drawn in the sand.   It is almost a mirrored image of Bommie's greatest achievement:  stabbing Hosni Mubarak in the back so as to be able to install Bommie's Boys, the Muslim Brotherhood, into power in Egypt, an  event that collapsed on its own totalitarian weight in a matter of months and left Egypt in much better and saner hands, with the Egyptian military in charge, again.

     Celebrating the failure of every flopping effort to show the world how Bommie walks on water and cares more than the 1%, and while criminally stonewalling, through his lackey Eric the Red Holder, on the Fast and Furious Debacle....perhaps the worst breach of law, international relations, and due process of all the phoney scandals, since it is the one that left the greatest number of  people dead....Bommie begins to collect on his open ended invitation to Central America to "Come On Down!!!!". 
    When Bommie extended the invitation to the oppressed of Central America to take advantage of Catch and Release, the movement to the north began fairly quickly and then built into such a crescendo that it became another debacle....one that Bommie and Valerie Jarrett actually celebrated.  The pain, suffering, and damage the Annenberg conspirators have caused the American Republic was compounded by what those pitiable folks suffered coming up here.  They will now be consigned to that thing the "progressives" call "The Shadows" until such time that Bommie grants amnesty by the stroke of his sceptre....an event that is coming sooner rather than later.

     Of course, Bommie still has the Obama Socialised Medicine Initiative for which he can be proud....for it, like all the other supposed missteps is the one thing that can cause the most damage to the United States as a bastion of individualism, industry, self-reliance, and risk-taking, innovation, and private wealth creation.

     So many errors, so many done intentionally to weaken the Nation.  The failure to force the Iraqis to terms concerning how we would retire from the field in Iraq is certainly one of the more telling events that show what an insipid Trojan Horse personality this pretender was, is , and will continue to be until he resigns or finishes his term.   It is sincerely my opinion that if the Democrats lose the United States Senate, Bommie will resign.

     The frenzy over control of that body is the reason for his wilful neglect and poor handling even of his purposeful "mistakes"  while he hobnobs with the rich and famous, raising money to buy time to defame this, that, and every potential Republican / Conservative postulating for election to the United States Senate.  We hope that he has painted himself into such a corner now that even his low information dullards will either stay at home or perhaps even vote Republican.  We notice that the Associated Press has gone '' full-court press'' with articles now, declaring that Business is hiring again and that layoffs are no longer to be feared because of Bommie's recovery finally picking up steam.   These articles are coming out against the backdrop, however, of Microsoft cutting 15,000 workers, or about 10% of their work force, and Apple also cutting deep into the ranks of their workforce.

     Bill Gates, founder and still spiritual leader of Microsoft, made a lot of sense in the past few days, as do a lot of ultra liberal, National Socialist, crony capitalists.  On the one hand he declared that we needed to have "immigration reform" that would be more fair, and allow more people to come to the table in the United States.  Then on the other hand his company was in the process of refining exactly what was going to be done to reduce the company's employment by one of every ten presently employed persons.  That is a true decimation....and speaks volumes to the notion that these billionaires who are Democrats and Progressives may be smart...but they are not all that smart.

We confess that we have been passive fans of Joan Rivers, in spite of herself, but one of the reasons why, she demonstrated to-day.   The cold-blooded  murder being caused Hamas (yes we normally spell it Jamas...it means in Spanish and Arabic "Forever" and "Never" depending upon the context).   The idea that one can hide weaponry and combatants in a mosque, school, hospital, and/or orphanage is the mark of absolute depravity.  It is the open admission of being a degenerate sub-human piece of fungus on camel vomit.  It is an obscene insult to the Abrahamic Religion that has essentially been systematically destroyed by Sunni and Shiite denominations and mullahs and imams who daily break the covenants and admonitions that Islam, Judaism, and  Christianity share from the prophets...and from the second most important prophet of Islam, Jesus of Nazareth.

     Very recently, the ISIS scum who essentially set up an Islamic terrorist state in central Iraq and easternmost Syria destroyed the mosque-tomb of the Prophet of the Three Abrahamic Religions....the Tomb of Jonah.

Honduran President Blames the United States?

     We are given to understand that the individual pictured above has offered to the consideration of all that the problem with the sudden exodus of a significant segment of the population of Honduras to the United States of America is the fault of the United States of America.   To the extent that the President of the United States devised, along with Valerie Jarrett and various marxist thinkers within the cartel occupying the White House and executive ranks of the American bureaucracy, a system to induct unqualified people into the United States, there is truth to the charge.

     However, one might consider that Costa Rica is another nation where the United States has also been very brutal.   The United Nations has pictures of Israelis and Americans literally sneaking in at night and carrying away all the wealth of Costa Rica on a regular basis.  In spite of this, we do not see hundreds upon thousands of people trying to flood up to the Rio Grande to gain access to the Honey Pot of WIC, AFDC, Section 8, Food Stamps, Head Start, Medicaid, and all the other nice free things that are part of the elusive American Dream.  Costa Rica has its problems, but the Costariquenos seem to be able to stumble through Life in Paradise without a lot of nationalistic pathos and accumulated chips on the shoulder.

last three years.  It is now hovering around 2% per
annum and falling, still a nearly staggering amount.

     Geography and sociology are interesting academic and scientific theatres of thought.   For instance, in the case of Honduras, there is no other nation in the world where the value of the land divided by the number of people in the population of that nation would yield the fact that per capita, Honduras is the richest nation per capita on Planet Earth.  There are many ways to figure this and certainly Canada, Russia, and certain of the African nations in the sub-Saharan area might be in the running....but in the photo finish, Honduras and her 8,500,000 people would certainly be in the mix.   How could this be possible?

     It is possible because Honduras is laden with incalculable amounts gold and silver.   Other minerals and metals are found in abundance in the mountains of the central core of the nation.  Agricultural alternatives are limitless.  The fishing industry has never been developed to any significant degree, and considering the comeliness and archaeology of the nation, it should be overrun with foreign and domestic honeymooners and archeophyles.  The pyramid site of Copan could provoke the introduction of 1,000,000 visitors annually if developed correctly.   This could be done by developing any of several hundred "helper" sites so as to take off the daily pressure on the main star.  Presently 150,000 visitors tour Copan per year, about forty per cent are foreign.







     Honduras has about 8,500,000 inhabitants, and a total gross nation product of a little less than 9,000,000,000 (nine billion) USD.  This is a production that allows for about 2,100 USD per person.   Interestingly, a family of four or five, with a bit of luck, with two-and-one-half wage earners in the family can make do fairly comfortably, considering the lack of need for heating or cooling, for instance.
  The abundance of cheap and high quality tropical production, avocado, banana, zapote (kiwi) beans, rice, corn, and a hundred other goodies make Honduras a place where a Gringo could retire early, set up a little business and pay a little too much for better help, and live like a Duke on an income of 2,000 USD / month.   But, the civil authority gave up trying to control the most vicious of the gangs...whose membership is well above 100,000.

     Luckily, the gangs, Los 18 and the MaraSalva Trucha, and a hundred lesser and affiliated groups tend to spend most of their time killing and terrorising one another.  But sometimes, after 10 or 12 reefers and two bottles of aguardiente (burning water) at 160 proof they set about killing and terrorising anything.  Sniff a little glue, snort a little coke or meth, and only the Devil knows what potential these people can fulfil in terms of criminality.

and elegant.

    To be sure, it would take a while, perhaps 15 to 20 years to pull Honduras up to a level similar to Mexico's right now.  But with calm, and a rigid, authoritarian, but fair, regime in place further foreign and domestic investment could raise the per capita income from the paltry 2,000 USD/year to four or five thousand in the time indicated above. The thing is, to do it!  But, after having the gumption to replace Zelaya and stand up to Chavez, the President of Honduras takes the easy road, and blames the United States for what is a systemic cultural problem within his own country.

    Our point is that from order can come progress, and as tough as the authorities have been on the criminal element in Honduras over the past three years....with some success, admittedly, in reducing the crime rate, more must be done.   One notices that in Brazil, as soon as the Games were over, and the last penalty shot kicked,  the authority lessened its choke hold on the gangs in the favelas.   Almost immediately the gangs began a donnybrook that continues to this day.   It is almost as bad as Chicagoland or Detroitland.

 

     In any regard, now we are given to understand that Father Obamaham is going to send cruise ships down to San Pedro Sula to gather all the children and bring to the United States so that they can be given a place and time to report for their immigration status hearing.   That way the children will know when and where not to be or not to be.   So far, well over 90% of those who have been given dates from this last batch, have for some good reason or another apparently not reported for their hearings.  One suspects that the 90% figure will become the norm.
