State Department Re-issues Travel Warnings for Tamaulipas

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Central Government gone wild:
     This is not an advertisement, nor is it a solicitation for business.    Thankfully, our little business is so small that we really would have a hard time handling even the smallest increase in activity.   We are simply using this opportunity to point out the uselessness of approximately 78% of the activity of the Central Government in Washington, D.C.
     The Consul General of the United States State Department in Matamoros, Tamaulipas issued a general travel warning, advising Americans not to travel to the State of Tamaulipas due to the wave of car-jackings, murders, kidnappings, and assaults along with the general violence associated with contests between various organised criminal elements.
      The news release also declared that the number of Americans killed during the past year in Mexico had gone down from 79 to  43, and that almost all those killings had resulted from the Americans being involved in the drug trafficking business.   Then the news release declares that the overall situation is much improved since the peak of the cartel activity in 2011.
     It was like something out of the TWILIGHT ZONE:   A cut-and-paste warning, word-for-word taken from previous warnings (some over 4 years old)  that were equally useless because of failure in terms of precision, the contradictory information, and other "news" that ran counter to what a person who lives in the middle of the situation knows to be true.     It's just wrong....and useless.
     It was such a spooky press release that El Gringo Viejo had to review the normal "un-official" sources of information about the drug and cartel violence.   Perhaps he was head-in-the-sanding....perhaps he was being Pollyanna....perhaps his rose-coloured contact lenses had become permanently attached to the iris.    Check...check...check.  Nope.   The sites that used to shovel up fresh guts and beheadings are pretty much reduced to being police blotter sites, covering domestic violence, predatory step-fathers, and shoot-outs between gangs whose oldest members are less than 15 years of age.   And, even those stories have seemed to calm into the 1975 - 1980 era of intensity.
AND THEN:
      Last night we had the confirmation of the detention and arrest of a major, or should we say, THE major figure still standing from within the ZETA Cartel.
CBS NEWS/ July 15, 2013, 7:21 PM (cited source)
Mexican military nabs alleged Zetas drug lord Miguel Angel Trevino Morales
Updated at 10:28 p.m.
A man said to be one of Mexico's most wanted drug lords has been captured: Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, also known as "Z-40."
Trevino Morales, alleged leader of the brutal Los Zetas cartel, was caught Sunday by Mexican Marines in a town called Anahuac near the border of Tamaulipas and Nuevo Leon states, authorities say.
In a press conference, officials said no shots were fired and three men were arrested with 2 million U.S. dollars in cash, three guns and multiple rounds. It was not clear what the precise roles of the two other suspects were, but Eduardo Sanchez Hernandez, Mexico's Assistant Secretary of Media and Security, said he believes one was in charge of finances and the other was a bodyguard. He did not answer when asked what role U.S. agencies played in capture.
The U.S. State Department had offered a $5 million reward for Trevino Morales.
The Zetas cartel is among Mexico's most violent drug organizations, notorious for civilian killings and beheadings. Is leaders ordered the killing of 72 undocumented immigrants in 2010 in what is known as the San Fernando massacre. More recently in May, the Mexican army said their leaders ordered underlings to leave 49 mutilated bodies in a northern Mexico town square.
Trevino Morales' brother, Jose, was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison in Texas for using a racetrack to hide illegal drug profits for his brothers.
Las Zetas is one of eight major, rival drug cartels involved in an ongoing conflict for regional control.
A horse ranch in Oklahoma was raided in June under suspicions it also hosted a money-laundering operation for Miguel Angel Trevino Morales.
Views of Anahuac - a downtown park
   The ones who captured him were elements of the Mexican Naval Infantry.   The take-down was not in Nuevo Laredo, but rather the city of Anahuac, Nuevo Leon which is found to the south, but not too far distant from the Laredos that straddle the Rio Grande.    Trevin~o - Morales is thought to have been born in Dallas, Texas although that data is in dispute.  He was never actually a regular Army soldier in Mexico.  He served a stint in the draft of about six months.   He was never one of the Fort Bragg graduates one associates with the high-ranking sergeants trained in special operations and night-parachute techniques and so forth....those original 27 or so who deserted and sold their services  (committed treason) to the Cartel del Golfo as "security engineers".   All of those have been killed or, for those few who have survived, are in Mexican or American prisons.
     The Naval Infantry, working with several different sources of information, including civilian informants in the locale, established a roadblock ambush on a rural road that locals said he had been using during the hours of darkness, especially the "madrugada" (early morning, pre-dawn hours).
 Main Parish Church
 of Anahuac
     Beyond the roadblock ambush, the Naval Infantry also brought in armed helicopters, and FLIR - capacitated equipment.   The contingent on the ground numbered about 60 infantry, under the command of a naval grade captain, and they received what was thought to be a "convoy" but what turned out to be one vehicle only.   Three men and a driver.  Trevin~o - Morales, his body-guard, his accountant, and the driver all surrendered without firing a shot, although they were heavily armed. It is not known as of yet if any of the weapons retrieved were "Fast and Furious" in origin, but such a thing would be unlikely.
     Word to the wise:   It is almost impossible to escape Forward Looking InfraRed imaging, especially when you are the only vehicle and the only four guys within thirty miles radius who are not wearing Naval Infantry camouflage.   And when you have 50 automatic rifles being held by fellows who really, really do know how to use them...being pointed in your abdominal regions, just put your hands up in the air, very slowly.    And in this same vein, this particular fellow of interest was involved with his brother, in Oklahoma, with the trading of fine thoroughbred horses.   His brother, and several of his brother's friends are making licence plates since about a year ago, and several million dollars worth of horses, land, and fixtures were confiscated, simultaneous to the career-change that the race-horse magnates (now  cockroaches) had invested.
     Any thought that this is just a blip and another Cartel will move in, and/or the "management" of this Cartel will just replace the leader with another, I think is incorrect.   It is my observation that each major blow done by the Mexican military and/or police agencies has resulted in less and less competent operation of the remaining cartel activity.   Also, it has resulted in more intermittent and less intense nefariousness in general....whether it be shake downs, silver-0r-lead alternatives for police and other officials, extortion (ie; waiting outside the schools to take 1/3 or more of the teachers' pay on payday), murders, reprisals, and the movement of marijuana and narcotics.
     So, not only is El Gringo Viejo confused about the latest warning from the State Department...which also included an all clear notice for various States in Mexico previously carrying warnings....but he is also certain that this blow will reduce the activity by another 3%.   And it will free up military assets to go into other areas.   Step by step.   Tick, tock, tick, tock.
More later.
El Zorro's and El Gringo Viejo's Secret Confederates forward a message sent by Yankee sympathisers.
    The following communique was sent from a secret ranch north of San Antonio de Bexar, Republic of Texas.   It originated from the pen of a Yankee woman.  She makes sense.  She sent it to our friends and fellow agents who own the aforementioned ranch.  The article can be found in Opinion magazine.   They  passed it ahead to us, as fellow agents of the resistance to the National Socialist Agenda as represented in the form of the Obama Socialised Medicine Initiative - 2010.
     The Obama administration disguised last week’s edict delaying the Affordable Care Act’s employer mandate as administrative tweaking. White House advisor Valerie Jarrett told reporters the impact would be miniscule, because 95 percent of employers subject to the mandate already provide coverage. Don’t be fooled by that figure. The delay could add over $60 billion to the cost of Obamacare in 2014 alone, affect 10 million workers, and double enrollment on the exchanges.
     Few bills debated in Congress affect that many people or cost that much. The delay will cost more than the annual budget for Medicare Part D prescription drug program. Shockingly, the administration failed to consult Congress or provide an iota of candor about why the delay was necessary.
     Delaying the employer mandate was likely a last ditch maneuver to avert an under-enrollment crisis on the health exchanges. Success depends on enrolling young, healthy adults and families whose minimal health needs will offset the cost of the sick and middle aged, a process scheduled to begin on October 1. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius begged the NBA and the NFL to coax their fans into signing up for exchange plans.
     But the NBA and NFL refused Sebelius’s request. Just days later, the administration suddenly postponed the employer mandate – a ploy to compel uninsured workers to sign up on the exchanges. According to the Employee Benefits Research Institute, there are 6.9 million uninsured full-time workers whose employers would have had to start providing coverage on January 1. 2014 if the mandate had not been delayed. These 6.9 million workers will have to enroll in exchange plans or pay a penalty to the IRS.
      The same goes for 3.1 million workers currently covered by mini-med plans (that have annual or lifetime caps on benefits.) These plans are allowed under waivers granted from the administration, but the waivers expire January 1, 2014.
     All in all, the administration’s edict puts 10 million workers between a rock and hard place. Sign up for an exchange plan, or pay a penalty to the IRS for not being insured. The average single man earning $29,000 a year before tax will get some subsidy but will still have to write a check every month for roughly $137. That’s for the cheapest plan with a $5,000 deductible. It’s a raw deal, and many single people will opt for the $95 penalty instead.
     On the other hand, uninsured workers with dependents are likely to enroll in an exchange plan. Last February the IRS ruled that the dependents of any worker offered affordable on-the-job coverage are ineligible for coverage from the subsidized exchanges. That left millions of spouses and children without taxpayer-funded coverage. With the employer mandate delayed, they will be eligible.
      If half of these 10 million workers go to the exchange and enroll with their spouses and dependent children, the cost to taxpayers will be a staggering $52 billion the first year, even after subtracting the $95 per-adult penalty the other half will pay. (The average subsidy will be $5,290 according to the Congressional Budget Office.) Add to that the $10 billion in foregone penalties the CBO had predicted the employer mandate would yield the first year, and the cost of delaying the employer mandate one year could total $62 billion. With no Congressional approval.
But there’s more:
     On Friday, the Obama administration quietly released final rules that “eligibility” for exchange subsidies will not be verified by checking an applicant’s income through employer information or tax data. All comers welcome. In California, the SEIU, the AFL-CIO and the NAACP are already conducting door to door canvassing, phone banks and robocalls to encourage people to sign up for exchange plans. And the state  (National Socialist Central Government - comment added by El Gringo Viejo) has mandated that voter registration will be integrated into the process.
     Obamacare imposes an employer mandate beginning on January 1, 2014. Only Congress has the constitutional authority to change that date. We the People must not allow the administration to defy the Constitution, increase the cost of Obamacare by at least $62 billion next year alone, and herd millions of people into taxpayer funded health plans whether they are eligible or not.
Enough Really Never Is Enough
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     To start, and as an aside to Rush, there really is such a thing as "white Hispanic".  Although El Gringo Viejo is desperately tired of  the use of the term ''Hispanic''....he will play at the edge of the water concerning the issue.   For a label that was meant  by the Latin-speaking Romans only to define the outer reaches of the Mediterranean Sea....towards where the sun sets....the West Lands (Hispania)....it has received a lot of use by people who are (1) ignorant (2) want to sound "with it" and "smart" and (3) do not want to use that horrid dirty word, ''Mexican" and/or who don't really know why they are saying the word "hispanic'.   Although Rush is an intelligent fellow, and a cousin of ours, he does come from Cape Giradeau, Missouri.
     We had a client many years back who was as hard headed as a dried cow's skull.  But that is neither here nor there.   While in Mexico City during one spring visit, we were making the rounds with various businesses with whom we had made appointments.    It happened to be Ash Wednesday.   As we received some ranking executives from a group involved in up-grading their telephonic switching equipment for a large banking concern, my Cape Giradeau client suddenly rose with his handkerchief and wiped the blackish grey stain off of the Mexican exccutive's forehead.   I lurched forward, too late, then settled back down to apologise for my client.

     The executive seemed bemused and amused in a way, laughing a bit. " I appreciate your concern.   No problem, no problem" he assured.   While at the same time, my client was asking, "What's wrong?''

     It was my task to also say, "It really is no problem.  But to-day is Ash Wednesday, and a lot of folks go to the churches at some time or another to receive their ashes."

    We went to quickly explain that the priests receive parishioners and others from among the Faithful, during an all day, all night affair at the communion rail and place a Cross of Ashes on the foreheads of those people.  The ashes are made from the contributed small palm Crosses from the year before that celebrate the arrival of the Nazarene into Jerusalem during the celebration of what is known as Palm Sunday.   Ashes can be augmented by unused, or overproduced Palm Sunday palm crosses or any palm frond that is respectfully burned for the purpose of making Ash Wednesday ashes.

     But, instead of saying "Oh, how foolish of me!"  or "Please forgive me!  I forgot what date it is!" or something similar, the businessman suggested that it was kind of a dumb thing to do....to walk around with ashes on the forehead during business hours.

    This is said in no wise to be contemptuous or to presume in my own superior intellect.   It is just the nature of things.  Rush is a relative of a direct, although distant, nature.  He is not a bad person....nor was the businessman from Rush's home town a bad person.   But it is a bit surprising that a person who lives in a traditional town in southeasternmost Missouri, that surely has Roman Catholic, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Methodist churches, would not know about the "receiving of the ashes" tradition still practiced by Apostolic Churches.

   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    So, and quickly, Rush says the term "White Hispanic"...as if he is going to guffaw and break out into belly laughter....and in so doing paints himself into a corner of being the fool that his detractors hope or would wish him to be.  He is no fool, but he is woefully ignorant of ethnic and racial compositions of all God's children.  But, the fact is that Zimmermann is 13/16ths Caucasian.  The remaining 3/16ths is dividing between people of a mulatto background (European / Black African) and people native to Peru....perhaps Quiche or some associative of the Incan grouping.   One of his grandmothers carries the Caucasian, Black African, and AmerIndian chromosomes simultaneously.
     Most white Southerners have Cherokee, Creek, and/or Choctaw blood line injected into their genealogy.....as do most Black Southerners who can trace their presence in the United States to a time before the 1850s.   We have gone through this several times before, and we would really like for Rush and the media, including FOXNews to "get it right" finally.    In Texas, the Latino group whose members trace all sides of its ancestry to before 1900 in Texas is probably almost entirely 75% to 100% of white racial composition.
     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     We tire of this.  We also know that we cannot fight perception, because in the popular culture, perception is reality.  The Kardashians are real although they are false.  But then again, they are also white even if they are Armenian.  And furthermore, being Armenian does not make them white trash, but being white trash does make them white trash.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Finally, the obsession on the part of the media....both the obsolete media and FOXNews, as well as the blogosphere and other alternative media....has been disheartening at the least.  This issue of the killing of Trayvon Martin has been ridden hard and stabled sweaty.  It does not serve any good for the dead boy.   It does not serve any good for the man who shot him.
     Barack Hussein Obama calls for a way to honour Treyvon Martin by hauling out the gun issue again.  Guns, guns, guns.   You see, says the President, a little louder than subliminally, racism is bad and Trayvon looks like "my son".   But the way to honour Trayvon is to do something about all this gun violence.   It's time for all the Crackers to turn in their guns.
      The boy who looks like Barack Obama's son is due no honours.   He was a thug.   He had a horrible record of drug dealing on campus, stealing and selling stolen property, unwarranted aggression, not to mention almost continuous truancy.   He was on an extended suspension during the time of his death.    And with the greatest strangeness, the idea that he is out at night walking back to .....the apartment of the "girlfriend" of his father...speaks volumes.
     This boy's mother did not take him in.   This boy's father did not seem to have room for him.   He winds up with the "main squeeze"  of the moment of the father.   The father and the mother are incensed that no one would charge the cracker with murder for killing this nice boy, but neither the mother nor the father would take him in or make serious allowance in their lives to shelter him during a time of duress for their own son.   The boy's apparent good female friend is a dunce of extremely limited intellectual reach or depth.  Her main reason for being is apparently to be a lump.   And her inspiration is the vomit that pours out of hip-hop and rap music sources.  That she could be used as a lead witness in any case up to and including the establishment of the place where ear-wax is found would be a wonder.
     The case was wholly without merit.  There was no murder.  It was clearly the case of a boy beating up a man who did not know how to fight.  The beating rose to the point where the man could reasonably assume that he was going to soon have his brain splattered onto a concrete platter.   Ironically, if Zimmerman were actually a tougher fellow, Treyvon would be alive to-day.  But Zimmerman did not know how to fight, was not a particularly aggressive fellow and therefore wound up being in the position of having to take the ultimate measure in order to save his own life.
     Knowing the nature of bullies and thugs from long experience, it is a certainty that Trayvon....a racist, undisciplined, bully, and certifiable hellion and criminal....could and would have pounded Zimmerman's head flat.  Zimmerman would have wound up as, at worst, a dead man or, at best, as an organ donor and then a dead man.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     It is necessary to observe that another thug, wormy political operative, and generally disgusting cancer within the central government, Eric Holder, now contemplates filing ''civil rights" charges against Mr. Zimmerman.   The same fellow who cannot find out anything about the "Fast and Furious" mess, but who promotes the guilty parties within the ATF to higher positions as a form of "punishment", can move very, very quickly when the crackers let off another cracker for killing an innocent young product of the liberal/progressives' Brave New World brand of social development.
     He threatens to re-open the Trayvon Martin case as a case of deprivation of civil rights....which is a hard case to make when charging a civilian....especially a 'legally armed" civilian.   But such cases are a hallmark of show-trial dictatorships.   Whether National Socialist as under Hitler or Bolshevik as under Stalin or  Popular Socialist as under Fidel, Raul, and Mao, show trials serve to warn the common slobs about how they are supposed to line up and be afraid.
     Sharpton...what is there to say?  What job would this Black Klanner have if he did not have white people to hate and blame for everything from  hangnails to halitosis and black people to hate when he finds out that they eschew his construct of the Brave New Plantation.   Jesse Jackson?   What can be said when he is seen lamenting that Treyvon lost his case because he did not have a jury of his peers.   I mean, there is truly no way El Gringo Viejo can rise to the level necessary to comment upon such profundity.

     Perhaps Sharpton and Jackson can someday join the four named pilots of the Asiana Airlines Boing 777 that made the tail-first landing in San Francisco the other day.  Perhaps they all can join the presidents of Rushmore some day.  More later.

Thirty-five per cent favour Re-establishing the Republic of Texas

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Most OROGs know that El Gringo Viejo has become more involved with the movement that would amicably disassociate Texas from the American Union, now that it is established that the value in that Union of marriage, the currency, the bond of truth, local control, the right of self defence, of possession of one's effects and property is totally discounted.    As the American Union, and its central government has moved deeper and deeper into the murkiness of organic law, it has left the citizens of that Union increasingly exposed to capricious harassment by that central government.
     The ever-increasing scope of services, compliances, rules, prohibitions, regulations, and useless meddling in the most minute daily issues facing the common citizen has become burdensome to an extreme.   We are faced now with the imposition of a nationalised health scheme so oppressive that even the people who foisted it upon the American Union do not want to participate in that debacle.   We have been treated to the spectacle of the most highly placed elected Democrat in the lower house of the United States Congress actually saying that ...."We have to pass it (the Obama Socialised Medicine Initiative empowering legislation) in order to find out what's in it."  ...followed by a wide-eyed nodding as if there would follow thunderous applause because of Her Facelift's profundity.   Citizens have a right, certainly, to something better from a Speaker of the House of Representatives.
     The events, as in the case of the grievances against King George III and the British Parliament during the 1770s and the grievances against Presidents Bustamante and Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and the Mexican Congress in the 1820s and 1830s were more than similar.    In many ways, the offenses against the citizenry during these days are more grievous, due to the fact that they are so insidious.  Inch by inch, day by day, deception and intrusion, unpaid and forced central government mandates support people and programs that are designed to foster sloth and dependency.
    Some may cry, "Peace, Peace".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL IS FROM THE TEXAS NATIONALIST MOVEMENT:

It is no secret that the Texas Nationalist Movement is "people focused". It is evident in our never-ending quest to connect with other Texans who are seeking independence and to convince those who are still "on the fence". It is why we have meetings all over Texas every week, spend an overwhelming amount of our budget on outreach and are always asking people to join the organization.
Most folks get it. Some don't.
At the heart of any plan to achieve the mission of the Texas National Movement must be the people. This is articulated in Article 1 Section 2 of the Texas Constitution and is scientifically proven. A "critical mass" of Texas Nationalists must be reached to achieve the "tipping point".
The Tipping Point
Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society. The scientists, who are members of the Social Cognitive Networks Academic Research Center (SCNARC) at Rensselaer, used computational and analytical methods to discover the tipping point where a minority belief becomes the majority opinion. The finding has implications for the study and influence of societal interactions ranging from the spread of innovations to the movement of political ideals.
“When the number of committed opinion holders is below 10 percent, there is no visible progress in the spread of ideas. It would literally take the amount of time comparable to the age of the universe for this size group to reach the majority,” said SCNARC Director Boleslaw Szymanski, the Claire and Roland Schmitt Distinguished Professor at Rensselaer. “Once that number grows above 10 percent, the idea spreads like flame.”

image005
There are two (2) important factors in the RPI research.

"Unshakable belief"
10% of population
By applying the standards set forth by RPI, we can firmly establish the necessary actions required to accomplish our mission.
The measure of the TNM's progress to the "tipping point" is in people. But it's not just any people. It is measured in people of "unshakable belief".

un·shak·a·ble  /ˌənˈSHākəbəl/ Adjective:
1.(of a belief, feeling, or opinion) Strongly felt and unable to be changed:
2.Unable to be disputed or questioned.
For us, these are people that are firm in the mission, vision and values of Texas Nationalism. They can articulate the mission, vision and values and live them daily. They are committed to the cause and cannot be discouraged. In the Texas Nationalist Movement our unshakability is measured by our level of engagement.
In the TNM, engagement is measured by a four-part test.
image007
The Numbers
image008The science produced by RPI applies to entire populations and population subsets. Here is their findings applied to the Texas Nationalist Movement.

Total Population:
26,059,203
Voting Age Population:
19,167,091
Voting Eligible Population:
16,100,196
Voter Turnout:
7,993,851

Acknowledging that out of these numbers voter turnout is the best indicator of the potential engagement in our cause and applying the 10% figure from RPI's findings, we arrive at the total number of Texas Nationalists required to reach the "tipping point".

800,000

Where are we now? Recent polling shows support of Texas independence at approximately 35%. While our internal polling shows it to be higher this provides us with a good starting point to determine how many in Texas are ready for us to win.
With these numbers there are approximately 2.8 million potential Texas Nationalists.
The Breakdown
We are always looking for people who share our mission, vision and values.
When we are asking for members, we are asking to connect. We are asking for people to join with us to help us build a nation. We are asking for people to shoulder their share of responsibility to make this happen. We are asking for Texans who believe in the greatness of an independent Texas and are willing to do something to make it happen.
The "tipping point" is more than some recruiting goal. It is the one concrete thing that must be achieved to gain and maintain our independence. It gives us the critical mass to achieve and forevermore maintain the political, cultural and economic independence of Texas.

Brief Stay....now heading north

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     After a really brief rest-up and a little housekeeping, El Gringo Viejo and his better three/quarters are going to Central Texas on a pilgrimage to the American Atheist Centre in Austin to light a candle for the continued success of Janet Napolitano as she assumes the crown and right to reign as Chief Bozo of the California University System.   She will announce during her ordination and beatification that there will be a new degree that will replace all other degree programmes within the system.
    That degree will be a Really Super Doctorate in Relevancy and Reverse Recycling and Equivalency.   Only two minors will be offered;  Castration and How to Use Public Transportation.   One elective will be offered system-wide under the title "Whatever".   The students whose surnames begin with A - C will come by to get their food stamps and contraceptives and pro-Obama placard, stickers, and campaign material for the third term on Tuesday.   Wednesday will cease being a name because it is day named after a man who was a god.   ycccchhhh!  How tacky.   Therefore, all schools in California will be on a six-day week.   Further instructions will be passed out advising everything that must be thought and said, and what must not be thought and said.   Please bring your own ergonomically and environmentally correct wheelbarrow to carry off your rules, because of the need to print all the rules in the basic 316 languages required by Californication Supreme Law, each required copy weighs 10,144 pounds....we mean 4,201 kilograms.
    Remember!  Think globally and act like a deranged fool locally.  It becomes you.  And you become it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We are so sorry.
   Our hacking service got inside the last draft of Miss Napolitano's acceptance speech.    We are certain she will do as good a job of turning her main office area into a romper room for her "friends" and "assistants" as she did in her Central Government office digs.

     Now then, we shall be visiting the family and checking into a few things for the next few days in the Austin area.   The Central Texas family will then be coming down to this area for a few days to visit friends and show off their incredibly beautiful and accomplished daughters to friends and more relatives.  It should be a pleasant few days.

We shall remain in contact.

Mexican Elections

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     The Mexican by-elections for several thousand positions including a few Congressional seats, several hundred Municipal Presidencies (a cross between Mayor and County Judge in Texas, depending on the community and whether or not the County Seat is overwhelming the predominant community in the County), and State Congress representatives.    Thirteen of the 31 States were holding these elections.
      We shall concern ourselves with Tamaulipas, which is a border State with the Republic of Texas.  It is also an ethnically complicated and complex State, with a wide range of geographic and historical characteristics.  Furthermore it is the place wherein one might encounter a little mud hut with the name of Quinta Tesoro de la Sierra Madre.
       During the last presidential elections in Mexico, last year, it was this writer's certain opinion that my favoured candidate from the Partido de Accion Nacional was very probably going to win the national election.  Surrounded as we were by people who have ALWAYS voted Partido Revolucionario Institucional in presidential processes....it was amazing to note that the scuttlebutt was overwhelmingly in support of the female PAN candidate....and amazingly she carried the State convincingly.  My failure had been in projecting what was surrounding me onto the rest of the nation.
      This time around, once again, it seemed to El Gringo Viejo that the PAN was poised to do "pretty well" in these more localised elections, and they did.  They actually carried the major cities/counties of Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros, barely missing the premio gordo (first prise) in the biggest city, Reynosa, and the Capital, Victoria)....but then carrying 6 other counties.   These last named six counties are real rural....hillbillies, rustics, small farmers, traditionalists....but historically pr0-PRI.   Attitudinal studies place these people almost totally within the Tea Party - Fundamentalist  American equivalent grouping.
     So, there was some surprise, but then an acceptance, that we may have seen a final, radical rupture between this heretofore dependable PRI voting bloc from these counties into the more conservative PAN.   Call it the revenge of the Reagan Democrats a la Mexicana.   Oddly, of these six, five had names that began with the letter "M"....Miquihuana, Morelos (Antiguo), Miquel Aleman, Mier, and Mainero....and one with an "X" which is Xicotencatl.   That was interesting, but there is always "....rest of the story".  (Xicotencatl is Alvaro's home area, by the way.)
    For the last five or six election cycles, it is never quite over until it is over.  Before, everything was better because everything stunk.   The people were allowed to vote....even urged and forced to vote in some cases.   But there was little point behind the effort because the victor was already known, even before he had been named as a candidate.   It would be a member of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional.   That day is gone.
     We tire of the already written story (before every election) about how these by-elections and even the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections do not engender any real interest. The Mexicans are apathetic, according to the Obsolete Press, regarding all candidates as corrupt...and most Mexicans do not even bother to register, much less vote.   Knowing looks by the Euro-reporters and their American counterparts are exchanged along the bar at the 3rd best saloon in Mexico City....(safely removed from the real wealthy, middle, and working class neighbourhoods known as reality)....safe in their notion about the Mexican attitude and action.   "I know it is true because a Mexican professor told me all about it.   And he teaches at the National Autonomous University, he is the deputy dean of the College of Sociology."  This is a statement that should read, "I know it is true because I'm a pinko and the professor is a pinko and we agree with each other".
     There is only one problem.   The Mexicans have a much higher registration and participation in their elections of the same or similar level than do the Americans.   And the Mexican Credencial Federal Electoral is the most zealously guarded personal document held by a Mexican.   And it is all but un-duplicatable.   We have written about this matter before, even if before an incredulous audience.  In my son's lifetime, Mexican elections have gone from laughable exercises including the hauling around county employees in dump trucks to vote at various sites.....to what is now perhaps the best procedure in the world.   Our procedures in the Republic of Texas pale...pale to bright white, compared to the Mexican process.
     So, there is at least one last event in the panoplia de comicios of the last procesos electorales en Tamaulipas.    That event is the rejection of the first count of the votes from last Sunday which showed the PRI candidate defeating the PAN candidate very, very narrowly in the city and county of Tula.   El Gringo Viejo's team, the PAN, stewed for a few hours and then "hit the road" so to speak.   They opted to resort to the common recourse used by communists and other leftists in the southern half of Mexico especially;   the closure of highways and byways by the strewing of hundreds or even thousands of irregularly space large rocks and small boulders across the entire highway right-of-way and pavement.
     So, on the same highway we used to go and come between Victoria and Mexico City a couple of weeks ago, at the exit for the town of Tula, Tamaulipas the passage to and from was closed.   It was closed for two days. Four hundred first-class and deluxe busses were trapped.   Three hundred departures both ways were cancelled, six hundred total.   Nine-thousand transport trucks and almost five thousand private vehicles were trapped.
     In these events one must think, "Should I wait here or turn around and find a comfortable place to wait?"  There is no way to know.  There is no news, only rumour.   Even when the police and/or Army arrives to clear the area, there might still be several hours of negotiation.   It is an abuse of third parties who have absolutely nothing to do about the issue.
This is the scene just before the Federal Civilian
Police, the State Police, and the Army came to an
accord with the protestors and moved out
 the "highway invaders".  It helps a little
 to know that the candidate concerned
came into the mess early on
 and urged his supporters
 to desist and move on.
    In 99.9% of the cases when this tactic is employed (thankfully less and less as days go by) it is truly done by extreme leftists who are proud of their willingness to cause misery to the "rich" who can afford to travel or profit from roads built to "exploit the poor".   This time it is my guys.  And this time, my guys are wrong....even if their complaint is justified.  There is a reasonable arbiter for the resolution of this matter, with the State Election Commission.   It has been used in the past and has functioned reasonably.
   So, shame on my team.  Technical foul.
