El Zorro watches SCOTUS from behind the curtains, and reports:

This is pretty disgusting.  No edification is necessary except to say:  This is another example of how Obama has infected all branches of Government and the damage may not be reversible.

“(1) Zivotofsky v. Kerry
Date Filed: June 8, 2015
Case #: 13–628.
KENNEDY, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which GINSBURG, BREYER, SOTOMAYOR, and KAGAN, JJ., joined. BREYER, J., filed a concurring opinion. THOMAS, J., filed an opinion concurring in the judgment in part and dissenting in part. ROBERTS, C. J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which ALITO, J., joined. SCALIA, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which ROBERTS, C. J., and ALITO, J., joined.
Full Text Opinion: http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/13-628_l5gm.pdf
CONSTITUTIONAL LAW: The Constitution grants the Executive Branch alone the power to determine national policy on the status or recognition of foreign sovereigns.
Petitioner's son was born in Jerusalem and Petitioner requested that the son’s place of birth be listed as “Israel.” The American Embassy refused to grant the request because of the Executive Branch’s policy to not acknowledge any country’s sovereignty over Jerusalem. Petitioner sued, arguing that the Foreign Relations Authorization Act (FRAA) §214(d) permits the son’s place of birth to be listed as “Israel” on his passport. The FRAA grants authority to the Secretary of State to list the place of birth for a US citizen born in Jerusalem as “Israel.”
The D.C. circuit found this statute unconstitutional because it conflicts with the powers granted to the Executive Branch in the Constitution to determine the status of foreign sovereigns.  U.S. Supreme Court affirmed, reasoning that this national policy determination is granted to the Executive Branch because of the Reception Clause, combined with the Article II foreign policy powers. The Court held that this power is both exclusively and conclusively delegated to the Executive Branch and Congress does not have the authority to require contradictory foreign policy.”

Of course, if in fact there are two points that allow this wide discretion on the part of the Executive, there are several more that point to the ability of a sovereign, be he/she foreign or domestic to perceive of him/her self in a rational way that can reasonably be considered truthful.

An Israeli born in Jerusalem can obviously declare such to be the case, if in fact he is an Israeli born in Jerusalem.  As well, there are obviously several, even many, places where an Israeli could have been born in Jerusalem.   And it is indisputable that Jerusalem is within the effective territory of Israel, and it is also indisputable that, being in the control of the Israelis, it is materially and spiritually in better condition than were it to be under the control of the dual mafias of Hezbollah and Hamas.

Wherever seated, in Congrefs or in Court or in the halls of Colleges and Universities laden with undeserved tenure or World Councils ,  this matter of the Leftists always seeking to either kill, humiliate, injure or denigrate the Jew is a sad commentary on the moral bankruptcy of the Left...worldwide.

We urge the OROG to read Justice Thomas's concurrence and affirmation arguments.   In that he both concurred and dissented, his vote would have been (and was, I believe), counted as a dissenting vote.   Chief Justice Roberts wrote a very strongly worded paragraph in his dissent included below.   We do urge a reading of the entire summary of the dissent, it is mercifully brief:

"Resolving the status of Jerusalem may be vexing, but resolving this case is not. Whatever recognition power the President may have, exclusive or otherwise, is not implicated by §214(d). It has not been necessary over the past 225 years to definitively resolve a dispute between Congress and the President over the recognition power. Perhaps we could have waited another 225 years. But instead the majority strains to reach the question based on the mere possibility that observers overseas might misperceive the significance of the birthplace designation at issue in this case. And in the process, the Court takes the perilous step—for the first time in our history—of allowing the President to defy an Act of Congress in the field of foreign affairs.
I respectfully dissent...."

We concur and agree with the Chief Justice in that, even if it were the United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada, and Japan telling us not to recognise Jerusalem as a true entity within the nation of Israel, the United States and the individual Israeli(s) concerned, coupled with the facts - not fantasies - on the ground trump the majority's arguments in this case.  There are other arguments, but please read the brief summary of dissents.

We are readying a round of departures

_________________________________________________________

We are starting to prepare for a departure to Central Texas....the San Antonio area for two or three days.   It will be something of a family get-together.   There will be considerable linear relations and collateral as well.  The numbers will swell finally to nearly 100 by the time all the babies are counted.

In order to cut down on the crowding into a spacious home and standing around uselessly while the poor host and hostess run ragged, we intend to help out and then get out.   We shall stay fairly nearby in the City of Castroville, an important small town coming from deep into the historical period of Texas....even into its time as an independent Republic.

It will be our intention to post a few pictures of the town upon return to the Lower Rio Grande Valley.  Then, almost immediately we are heading down to the Quinta Tesoro de la Sierra Madre, our little bed-and-brunch / hideaway on the edge of the Sierra Madre in the Mexican interior.   We shall be taking down an important personage in terms of the extended families, a person who has considerable experience travelling and working in Mexico.

With reference to such things, the Mexican by-elections have just passed, largely without the predicted disorders.  This writer did not think that there would be any significant disorder, save for the indisciplinate places we have covered before:   the Ayotzinapa - Chilpancingo mess in the State of Guerrero, and the Tale of the 43 "Students" for instance.   Beyond that, many were surprised at how sedate the processes were and how heavy the vote was.   This will not be what is reported, of course, but it is what happened.

It should be pointed out that the State of Guerrero, when all was said and done, after all the stupid, violent, ruinous protests, voted Centrist...for the dumbo Partido Revolucionario Institucional - PRI....the party of the much maligned (and perhaps somewhat deservedly) President Pen~a Nieto.   The wise ones and even some polls were indicating that it would be a tough row to hoe for both the President and the PRI.   But, lo and behold, the stodgy, creaky "centrist" party (mainly liberals and big-business magnates such as Carlos Slim) held onto a slim majority of the Chamber of Deputies in the Congress, with the help of a bit of a globbing on of the small splinter "Green Party" into the "mix".
The conservative, private sector party, the Partido de Accion Nacional - PAN maintained its second place position in both the upper and lower chambers, while the old Partido Democratico Revolucionario...essentially a hot-pink Marxist-populist demagoguing engine...shrank down into single digits.   It was led into the abyss by Andres Lopez Obrador, (the "Harold Stassen of Mexico"),  the much-revered- by-the-international-press piece of tree fungus who is probably as insane as Nancy Pelosi and Wasserman-Shultz.

It was an 85 on the scale of 100, by this writer's feelings and sensibility.  The left will commence, as they frequently do after such a debacle, to eat their own children.   The Army and Naval Infantry will be more intent and intense, having received a de facto endorsement from the electorate, and perhaps the Rightwingers can get their heads out of the bucket and figure out how to put together the skilled blue-collar middle class, the old upper-middle class, the professionals, the small proprietors, and a swath....perhaps the majority....of the wealthy industrialists and agriculturalists into a posture that can re-install them into the Presidency again.

A First in 150 years in Mexico:
One oddity is that after see-sawing back and forth for various terms, both the PRI and the PAN were turned on their heads by an Independent candidate for Governor of the State of Nuevo Leon.  The OROGs will remember that Monterrey and its surrounding, adjacent communities....totalling about five million people and its State, Nuevo Leon is the industrial and social powerhouse of Mexico.   It is decidedly rightwing, and progressive in the correct sense of the word.  Every week, it is said, the Metroplex takes,"...two steps back and three steps forward....someday we should arrive where we are going."   By international standards, the metroplex is solidly a majority mix of blue-collar and white collar forms of some kind of middle-class socio-economic position.
It has a huge wealthy group, perhaps 10% being in millionaire status by American measure.
Governor elect of Nuevo Leon State of Mexico
JAIME HELIODORO RODRIQUEZ CALDERON
receiving a congratulatory call from the President
late Sunday night past.
In any regard, Jaime Heliodoro Rodriquez Calderon, a successful presidente municipal of Villa de Garcia, an adjacent-to-Monterrey city/county on the far north side of the metroplex, postulated for Governor and parlayed his image as a rough cowboy the way to the Governor's throne.   He is a very literate, almost eloquent if a bit profane at times, blustery fellow who seems to genuinely hate corruption and cartels and 'pandillas' (juvenile gang).
His nickname is "El Bronco" or the un-broken horse, or wild horse.  In personality and charisma people state that he seems to be channelling the spirit of Pancho Villa.   If he is remotely adequate as governor, and most people think he will certainly be at least that, he might possibly be lost at mid-term in a run for the Presidency.
We must remember that Nuevo Leon is essentially a different country, with a fairly large hinterland that extends well beyond the State's frontiers.   Truth be known, that if it were not for the oil and gas industry in Texas, the San Pedro - Monterrey cultural and industrial complex would essentially strategically own the four counties composing the southern tip of the Republic of Texas.
The Monterrey metroplex, for example has about four per cent of the population of Mexico but generates about 50% of the tax receipts for the Secretaria de Hacienda of the Central Government in Mexico City.   Billion dollar factories going in and billion dollar re-builds and expansions of existing industries are third page news in the Monterrey metroplex.

The turn-out for this election was more like a Presidential level trek to the polls by the body politic.  There were lines aplenty.  Every County in the State of Nuevo Leon reported record by-election participation.  El Bronco gained almost exactly 50% of the "votacion".  The PRI and PAN both took about a quarter of the pie.  And...there were no challenges to the outcome.

We shall seek more information and have pictures to render the OROG community upon our return after this visit to our little place and various points of interest in our humble little area.   More Later

This too must change....The Septic Tanking of America: But first....

On the left - lying, self-consumed snip
On the right - frumpy, self-consumed hag

The (Sir Edmund) Hillary on the left spent her renowned commencement address at Wellesley lambasting the "establishment" in general and certain personalities in particular, including United States Senator present in the audience that fine day,  Edward Brooke III, a Black man, and also the first popularly elected person of black African ancestry to the United States Senate....a Republican.  The second, of course, is another Republican by the name of Tim Scott, who is much more conservative and quite a bit Blacker, as would be expected of a Senator from South Carolina, of course.

The frumpy - self-consumed - hag - Hillary is that great frumpy hope for all women who lost out, who wake up hating themselves and blaming men and "things in general" for their misery, who know that the lottery ticket and/or bingo card they are drawing has been marked as a loser by "some man" who is in charge  ''somewhere".  They love (Sir Edmund) Hillary because, no matter how much she and Billy Jeff steal, no matter how many lies they tell, and no matter how much false posturing they do or destruction they cause, at least someone is getting away with something and it must be hurting the same people who hurt "me".

In Conservative Sociology it will probably be known soon as the Sandra Fluke Psychotic Group Syndrome.

________________(and you guessed it:   It's your fault)________________________

NOW, AND as inspired and compelled by El Zorro, a much more somber matter.    To wit:

  • Church World Service (CWS)
  • Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC)
  • Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM)
  • Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS)
  • International Rescue Committee (IRC)
  • US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI)
  • Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS)
  • United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB)
  • World Relief Corporation (WR)

  •

Yes, these official sounding agencies are actually officially endowed, recognised, integral parts of the official Churches inferred by their titles.  They operate as contractors for and with the United States State Department, working in league with the United Nations, and other repellent organisations, insidiously involved in the quest to destroy both the United States and Israel.   Yes, Virginia even the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.   None of the "immigrants" or "refugees" represented by these organisations as "new residents" in the United States....especially into Texas.... are Arabic ancestried Jews or Christians.    Almost all are not "moderate" Moslems....in that they believe in Sharia as a law superior to English / American Common Law and Constitutional Law forged through interpretive precedents.   Almost all believe that the killing of apostates, heretics, and infidels is probably necessary, and the killing of all homosexuals and adulteresses and un-married but betrothed maidens who are "soiled" is honourable.

Aiding the above named Agencies are their localised, on-the-ground, Acorn-type community "service" placement facilitation workers who are dedicated to globbing these very probably rabidly anti-American people into our midst.

It is the same as what they did during our immediate past Summer of Discontent when 60,000 women with very small children, along with perhaps as many as 8,000 Mara Salvatrucha (perhaps the world's worst and most bloodthirsty thug-gangmembers).   They trundled up from Honduras and Nicaragua and Guatemala and El Salvador.  They were invited, quite literally, by elements within or endorsed by the United States government. Radio and television programmes in Central America gave repeated and detailed instructions about how to seek out and surrender to United States Immigration and Border Patrol officers, and ask for refugee status for their children.
They were escorted, tended to, fed, given clothes, sheltered, given transportation by the agencies listed above and by common citizens who felt move to provide Samaritan Acts.   None or few of these people ever said even so much as a thank you.  They were never reluctant to complain and/or ask for "more" or to complain about the colour of the new pull-over T-shirt for the four-year-old child she had lugged up from bowels of Honduras.
They are now being helped by "immigration attorneys" to file complaint after complaint about their treatment by the authorities, the quality of their free food, their free accommodation, their free transportation to places from whence they will probably never be extracted....all of which places are in the United States.   It was easy to note by the fact that many of the "madres solteras" had salon nails and other indications that they were not "refugees" in any sense save for the desire to be in a place where they could be paid for having babies.
Most of them will be "stabled" by criminal elements who are also from the girls' own home countries.   They will be "milked" for percentages of their AFDC, WIC, food stamps, and Housing subsidies, all conducted by teen-aged spawn of Hell, full of MS-13 and Santa Muerte tatoos.   They might even be forced into prostitution or, if luckier, to tips-only work as bar-maids in dive-saloons.   It just the way it is.

That will be success for the above named groups and agencies.   Their mission is to foist the quagmire caused specifically by the NON-IMMIGRANT type entrant into this Republic.  They are not the Mexicans of the previous-Amnesty and Pre-War-on-Poverty period when the arrival of Mexicans was actually a positive  thing for the American fabric.   These people from last Summer,  in their 85 - 90 per cent, were not Immigrants....they were barnacles.  Digestive tracts and reproductive systems.

And once again....the agencies listed above are the complicit interface inducting the obviously unqualified into the country.   Their "start-up" money is given by good or complicit people who are members of the sects, denominations, and groups listed above in the form of tithing or the alms-basins of their offertory.  Greater money comes back to the denominations' and sects' upper tier administration....to the Presiding Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of America, for instance and she then uses that money to fight, not poverty and suffering, but to pay expensive lawyers who are fighting Parishes and Dioceses who  wish to retire from the "greater" Episcopal Church and join the North American Anglican Union....or stand as independent Anglican Dioceses.    That is actually what is going on...that, and the destruction of American traditionalism.

We leave you with that, and thank you for your king attention and patience.
You all can thank El Zorro, Mrs. Corcoran, and others for trumpetting these realities for all to hear.

Sir Edmund Admonishes the Republicans about Voting Integrity?

    __________________________________________________

The image of (Sir Edmund) Hillary talking authoritatively about anything raises questions immediately.   We watched, and there were really no surprises.   She managed to touch all the bases.   To wit:

    Cover
    Dedicated to that
     "first revolutionary"
    LUCIFER
         (1)   According to Rules for Radicals she did as ordered.  Always accuse the opponent of actually doing what it is that you as a radical are doing.   Do this especially if the opponent is, in truth, not doing what you are accusing him of.  This cynical admonition by Saul Linsky is something this final distillation of arrogant totalitarians have taken to its final refinement.
While on the one hand pushing ACORN (and later re-incarnations thereof) thugs....mainly barely one-half step above homeless druggies....to do "voter registration recruitment" (?), they accuse Republicans of being openly attempting to "...keep people from voting."   ACORN and Sons, famously signed up scores of thousands of Mickey Mouses, Marilyn Monroes, John Smiths, and so forth.   They were, and still are, actively involved especially in large cities and around universities where "students"  could pick up a few extra bucks, turning in voter's registrations to the County Registrar.   At times the error rate for the cards was over 90%.
ACORN and the Sons of ACORN would assure the authorities that the errors were "accidental" and sometimes due to the plain inexperience, lack of intelligence, or the fact that they could only pay minimum wage.   ACORN "deputy registrars" were charged and convicted on many occasions.    Reasons?    Offering registrants cigarettes, cocaine, marijuana, money, and/or sex for registering to vote.....you know....citizenship things.  But ACORN and Son are just part of the hideous, purposefully deceitful mess.   Another small but significant part of the issue is described below.

Strangely, we find that almost  everywhere an area where probable Democrat voters are found in concentrations of 90 per cent or more of the precinct, registration is also found to be almost totally registered.   At times there are more registrants than even the most recent census can verify the number of voting age adult citizens.
Frequently, on voting days, precincts in some heavily Democrat and leftist strongholds manage to vote over 100% of the registered electors represented on the precinct rolls.  Such phenomena are not all that rare, although they are known as Miracle Precincts.  Ask (Sir Edmund) Hillary about this, and she would certainly respond that she has never heard of such a thing.
She probably has not heard about the "false stories and myths about voter fraud" that occur here in southernmost Texas.  Just during the past two election cycles....mainly concentrated in the Democrat Primaries...which are really pointless due to the fact that the winners will ultimately either be sent to prison or driven out of office by some kind of scandal....women known as ''politiqueras" (poh - lih - tih - KEI - rahs) trundle about where ever there might be very old and incapacitated women.    These women will first be told that "I am here to help you vote."   And the politiquera will engage the old lady in some polite and banal conversation, moving all the while to that point where the old lady will be told that the politquera is really busy and she needs to have the old lady ".....sign right here on this line".
The little old lady has probably been through this before, and knows what is going on.   She also has a bit of fear in her as it concerns the politiquera.  They become quite insistent to even threatening, rough, and finally physical when they think the little old lady is not going to sign.
What is the important document?   It is a request to the County Elections Officer to mail, to the little old lady below named and endorsed,  an Absentee Ballot for the election of such and such date.   If the little old lady hasn't been too much of a problem, the politiquera might throw a five dollar bill on her bed.   If she "gives up" some names then the politiquera might be disposed to give the little old lady 20 dollars or maybe an "extra" (stolen or found)Lone Star Card with thirty or forty dollars left on it.
If the little old lady holds out, there is, at times, physical violence.   At other times the politiquera might threaten that she "knows" about the illegal paper work in her legal alien petition or naturalisation papers false information or any number of hocus pocus dragons that she can employ to terrorise the hapless little old lady.   Frequently we might be talking about a little old lady who is 80 - 100 years old, maybe 75 -110 pounds, frail in health being confronted by a woman who is essentially a saloon-madam type, big - around 200 pounds, and  perhaps 33  to 60 years of age.   Frequently the politiquera has her "chauffeur" or helper, who might be a large male.
It is not a good time for a femme sole should a politiquera put that woman in her sights.   Little old men are also assaulted in the same manner.    They know that the politiquera will be coming by to check on their mail, and once again the document will be signed....at which time the politiquera herself will fill out the ballot in the "correct" manner.
The politiquera will always assert in court that she is "helping"  the little old men and ladies vote....but sometimes, and increasingly...even the Democrat District Attorneys have begun to tire of the game.   It became sadly humorous when during the last couple of sessions,  United States Postal Service letter carriers have been found offering ballots for sale that have been sent out to legitimate (or otherwise) requests to the county's Elections Registrar's office.   Price per ballot?   From $5 to $20, depending upon how close the election seems to be.

So, (Sir Edmund) Hillary....ye of the s l o w   s p e e c h and stern condemnations of people who have done no wrong in this issue....just shut up or shut down....what moral grounds do you have....?   You and your party pride yourselves for only one thing, a process:  .....buying votes with other peoples' money and using that money to enslave people into a system that all but requires them to continue to vote for you so that they can .....live....!   Gag.

It is the old game.   Democrats commit serious second and first degree felonies like (Sir Edmund) Hillary so often does, and they are applauded.   Tom DeLay uses a common accounting and processing operation to transfer funds, openly, and Ron Earl has to charge him with Money Laundering.  Three expert attorneys testify that they advised DeLay that his manoeuvre was absolutely legal, and finally, after the fourth try, Ron Earl, Travis County District Attorney obtains a conviction from a mentally retarded jury and a dunce of a pinko-Democrat Judge.   After a long process, the entire proceeding is overturned, and Ron Earl has become not only an historical figure, but also a forgotten one.

         (2)  We noticed that (Sir Edmund)Hillary had that paragon of intelligence and commitment to public service, United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee at the lightly attended, relatively dull rah-rah demagogue warm-up exercise at Texas Southern University.  (Sir Edmund) Hillary laid out the case about how Republicans were going to resort to lynching parties to cut down on "minority" participation in elections.
Sheila Jackson Lee waddled to the podium to remind those assembled about something...I know not what.  It was the most ridiculous, dis-jointed, meaningless, and self-contradicting ramble of bilge ever foisted out by a person even that inarticulate and insultingly stupid.   She won the first prize again for winning the first prize....again.

We must insert here that stewardesses who learn that Sheila Jackson Lee will be travelling on a certain airline between Houston and Washington, District of Columbia will do almost anything (a) not to attend that section of the airplane and/or (b) trade out or call in sick in order not to suffer the profane, abusive, "do you know who I am?" routine for which Sheila, like (Sir Edmund) is famous.   Salt and Pepper peas in a pod....a pod of hubris and conceit,  and barely functional insanity, (Sir Edmund) Hillary and Sheila Jackson Lee....(people actually vote for them....I mean...what difference does it make?).

The Constitution Is 400 Years Old and More Pearls From Sheila Jackson Lee

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Democratic congresswoman could give the craziest Republican a run for his money with her history of wild statements.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas proclaimed this week that the Constitution is 400 years old. In other words, its writing would predate the Pilgrims. But while she may be spending her time avidly re-watching the Pocahontas in hopes of getting a glimpse of John Smith jotting down the phrase “We The People,” you can read some more of Jackson Lee’s greatest hits below:

If You Believe They Put a Man on Mars
In 1997, while on a trip to the Mars Pathfinder operations center in California, Jackson Lee asked if the Pathfinder had succeeded in taking a picture of the flag planted on Mars by Neil Armstrong in 1969. Needless to say, Jackson Lee, then a member of the House Science Committee, had confused Mars with the Moon. (Despite the alliterative names, they are very different astral bodies. Mars is a planet that orbits the Sun and has never been visited by man. In contrast, the Moon, which is a satellite of Earth and orbits our planet, has been visited six different times by astronauts).

    Two Vietnams, One Gaffe
While Jackson Lee is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, she seems to be badly in need of a new atlas. In 2010, she compared the war in Afghanistan to Vietnam, an analogy that has often been invoked by Democrats. But the lesson she took from that was unique, to say the least. “Today, we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working.” Jackson Lee went on to caution: “We may not agree with all that North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace. I would look for a better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they are living side by side.” South Vietnam has not existed for almost 40 years since North Vietnamese forces took Saigon and reunified the former French colony in 1975.

The Tea Party Took My Baby Away
In a workshop around the 2010 convention of the NAACP in Kansas City, Jackson Lee said that the Klansmen of the past are now Tea Party members. In her somewhat incoherent statement, the Texas congresswoman said “All those who wore sheets a long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing uh, clothing, uh, with a name, say, I am part of the tea party.” She then went criticize these Tea Partiers for being among “those who said Congresswoman Jackson-Lee’s braids were too tight in her hair.”
“Where is my seafood meal? I know it was ordered!”

    Michael Jackson, Global Humanitarian
After the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, Sheila Jackson Lee went to Los Angeles to speak at the memorial service of the pop star where she mourned him as “someone who will be honored forever and forever and forever and forever.” The congresswoman ended her valedictory to a man she described as “our icon” by saying “Michael Jackson, I salute you.” While speaking, she held up a copy of House Resolution 600, which she introduced to honor the best-selling musical artist. Her resolution though didn’t go anywhere in the House. After all, very few members of Congress were eager to mourn a man with a well-documented history of allegations of sexual predation on young boys.

You Stupid Mxxxxxxxxxxr and Other Friendly Nicknames
Jackson Lee has a well-documented history of being the worst employer on Capitol Hill. With plenty of job security representing a safe Democratic district, she goes out of her way to demean and abuse members of her staff. As Jonathan Strong, then of the Daily Caller documented in 2011, she constantly referred to one staff member as “You Stupid Mxxxxxxxxxxr,” threw her cell phone at another and demanded to be chauffeured by car when travelling between House office buildings, although there are convenient tunnels connecting the office buildings, even to the Senate side of the Capitol.  At times, she sends staff aides to pick up her garlic tablets at the Congressional grocery store, which stays open until 02:00, partially to avoid arguments with Mz. Jackson Lee.

    Where Is My Seafood Meal?
Early in her tenure in Congress, back in the days when airlines still served food, Jackson Lee would demand the ability to make multiple first class reservations on Continental Airlines and then cancel them freely according to her schedule. The airline did not appreciate this. The culminating point was when Jackson Lee boarded a flight back to her Houston district and discovered the first class menu didn’t include the seafood option that she wanted. The congresswoman started screaming “Don’t you know who I am? I’m Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Where is my seafood meal? I know it was ordered!”  (Expletives and gross profanity deleted)

Click to visit our little Adobe Hideaway…

This is our rustic, but very comfortable place, out in the rural area to the northwest of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas…the State's Capital. From a bustling city of 400,000, we placed our domicile a bit more than 20 miles into the scenes of mountains, citrus groves, spring-fed creeks and rivers with crystal clear waters, and an abundance of bird species that make veteran birders shake their heads in wonder.

We are all but adjacent to the venerable Hacienda de Santa Engracia (about 500 yards away), which dates to the 1720s and has ancient structures still in use, very elegant, and mystical in many ways. It has operated as a guest hotel since the 1970s.

Our little place rests on three and a fraction acres, fronting on the Rio Corona, which is lined with over-1,000 year old cypress trees. The nearby Sierra del Cautivo…a major segment of the overall Sierra Madre Oriental that dominate most of eastern Mexico, lies to the west by about three miles. guards the many springs that maintain the almost perpetual flow from those heights (up to 12,000 fasl) while our place is situated right at 1,000 feet above sea level.

Give us a call, come by and visit…it is truly a different venture in the most positive sense. We can be reached by our email - privatouring@gmail.com - which is our preferred method of communicating.

    OROG Number

    What is an OROG?

Once a person lands on our page, that individual becomes a member of the Order of Readers of the Old Gringo, (OROG). There are no dues or assessments to pay, no meetings, no requirements. We are not associated with the KKK, the WCTU, the French Masons, or the Global Warming Glacier
    Protection Committee.
We do have a distant connection with the Knights of the Golden Circle and hold the maps to the internment sites of 34 tonnes of Confederate Gold, and 1,000 tonnes of Mexican Imperial Silver (bar and coinage) derived from the collapse of the Reign of Maximillian von Hapsburg, Emperor of Mexico (1863 - 1867). I think we can remember where we put it.
All kidding aside, we are acerbic, but we do not bite. We do believe in our antiquated philosophy, but we try to not impose our quirks and beliefs so far as to be disrespectful.

Communism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

I bark at no man's bid. I will never come and go, fetch and carry, at the whistle of the Great Man in the White House, no matter who he is.

I told the people of my district that I would serve them as faithfully as I had done. But, if such was not to be, then you may all go to Hell, and I shall go to Texas!

And on and on it goes. The more the Government gives away, the more it takes, and the less Americans do for themselves, until finally, like Europe, there is nobody left to do anything, and there is nobody left to pay for, the nothing that is not done.

And, yes, Virginia, there truly is a Santa Clause, and he and Mrs. Clause and their helpers care greatly for the good children of the Planet. So long as there is happiness, kindness, charity, generosity, and the Spirit of Fellowship, Santa Clause will be there, representing those noble things, and he will always move in a spiritual way so as to provoke humankind to goodness.

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

El Gringo Viejo: a fair description

Life for El Gringo Viejo began on the Texas-Mexico frontier, near McAllen, Texas literally on a real, live farm. The farmer, as one might imagine, was his father, who had moved with his parents from Gwinner, Sargent County, North Dakota in 1915 - 1916 period, down to the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. (And yes, Virginia, that is the way Sargent County is spelled.)

His parents farmed in an area close to the new community named after its founder, called Ed Couch, in Hidalgo County of Texas. My grandfather is buried in the Weslaco Municipal Cemetery about 10 feet away from his friend, Ed Couch.
After studies, and a stint in the 1st Cavalry, 12th Regiment (mounted), Headquarters Squadron of the United States Army...riding warhorses back and forth along the Rio Grande from the late 1920s and early 1930s. He did not speak much about his service, but we determined that he apparently made rank of 1st Lieutenant.
El Gringo Viejo's Father established his farming and citrus grove-care operation just north of McAllen, Texas. Mother was a housewife and a professional woman....a learned, eloquent, well-read woman.
They were educated people, my father winding up as a Superintendent of a major school/facility of the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation in Austin, Texas after a twenty year career in education at the secondary level. He had degrees in History, Psychology, and Education Administration.

El Gringo Viejo is the last of three children, all males. Number one was Milton Birchard, Jr. who was born in 1936 and died in a vehicular incident in 1988. He was narcoleptic. He held a doctorate in geography from Louisiana State University and was head of the Department there for a good while.

Number two is Norman Francis, who was born during the WWII situation in 1942 and became an important Republican political engineer and fundraiser. He served as Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas during the late 1960s and early 1970s and as Senator John G. Tower's immediate Executive Assistant. The Senator is the Godfather of Norman's first son.
Norman died at age 77 in Austin, Texas and I was one of four eulogists who was chosen to speak at his en memoriam at the Austin Club in downtown most Austin…within sight of the State Capitol.
It was a personal duty and very rewarding
    in every way.

My arrival was in 1947, and I was destined to confound my parents and all those around me. Educated entirely in public schools in McAllen, skipping the third grade, and stumbling out of my high school in the upper 90% of a class of 606. I
attended and graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now named Texas State University, unfortunately), being one of the few conservatives to graduate out of the School of Sociology, although my treatment at the hands of my tormentor-professors was not so unpleasant in those days. Emphasis of studies were social demography, and Latin American Affairs with a concentration on Mexico's history and current political evolution, with a minors in History, Geography, and Political Science.

El Gringo Viejo is one of the old, unreconstructed high-church Episcopalians. Politically, he is very fundamentally conservative. He prefers Baseball to football, and considers that baseball with a designated hitter for the pitcher should be called "poofy-ball". Favourite major league team of all times? The Brooklyn Dodgers of the 1950s. It will never be the same again.
El Gringo Viejo's father was born to a Hudson Valley-type girl and a man who had lost two older brothers who served in the Pennsylvania 96th Regiment of Volunteer Infantry during the War Between the States.
The surnamed line (Newton) originated from East Anglia, not far from a place called Washington in northeastern England. They came into Boston Harbour, Massachusetts in 1642 (the 1st voyage of the Mayflower had overbooked), and settled there and in Maine as well as spreading out to Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania, over the generations for the first 220 years.
Another batch of folks, mainly Anglo, settled in the middle Hudson Valley. There was another group of Celto-Teutonics types from Saxony and Prussia, establishing and settling along the Hudson River from around what is Catskill County northward to Duchess and Rennselaer Counties around a place named Red Hook. The main group came in during the early 1650s.

My mother's people were another English line of long-term Southern and Tennessee people, from the Eastern part of that State, who originally came in during the 1660s through Virginia and North Carolina, and finally into Eastern Tennessee, settling in and around a county to be named Franklin, and helping to establish the city of Winchester. Almost all of these people originated from southwestern England, near the frontier with Wales.

Only recently did we verify that she had many people involved in the service of the Confederacy. One died in northern Mississippi, another Captain Asa Grant, 2nd Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry, was severely wounded and succumbed to his wounds finally in 1869, and another hung around in an Ohio POW camp (Camp Chase) for about 13 months, while three others were either wounded or died in action, including David Limbaugh, Lieutenant, 42 Tennessee Infantry. Another five made it through relatively unscathed.

Almost all were, oddly enough, related to the great-grand uncles and gggg-grandfathers down to gg-grandfathers of Rush Limbaugh. The gggg-grandfather came into the Colonies in the early 1740s from a Prussia and Saxony background, and served in both civilian and military capacities to the Continental government and Army. He was the XO of a Militia Battalion of 3,000 Pennsylvania effectives. They honed their military readiness under the supervision of Gen. von Steuben and someone named Washington at some place called Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
A grandson of his, Isaac, settled in Tennessee after the War for Independence against King George III. So Rush and I share grandfathers, four generations deep on the American Continent.

It should be stated here that were I to be called to declare, my allegiance would still be with the Southern Cause, although I bear no rancor against those who feel the same about their instinct to maintain the Union. Oddly enough, both my mother (a Southerner) and my father (a true Yankee by blood) believed that we would have remained closer if we had separated, and each side gone the ways of their own yearning, but amicably.

The last of the English (El Gringo Viejo's) line came during the time between the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. They left County Wicklow, where they had been involved, apparently, in that peculiar Anglo - Scots/Irish practice of making whiskey by the use of peat for fuel. They were also involved in the business of production and processing of various types of grains as well as the production of whiskey, gin, and beer. By their surnames one would know that, while coming out of Ireland, they were actually English, one with the surname of Christian and the wife, Webster. They had, in fact, married in Christ's Church Cathedral, Anglican, in downtown Dublin in 1796. They landed in New York, set up shop in the City among previously arrived relatives, and then in Albany. We have some record that this Christian who married the Webster had actually lived in the colonies, but travelled several times back and forth between the Spirits businesses in England and Ireland and the New World. They wound up as the generations progressed in and around Minneapolis (St. Anthony) & Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Racine, Wisconsin. My particular line went from New York to Alabama, then North Carolina, and then Wisconsin to join up with the rest of the extended family, finally in Minnesota, before the War Between the States.

The Time Line of entry of all lines of my children's blood ancestry on their mother's side in the New World begins in 1578, when Spaniards of mixed Hebraic and Iberian peoples, and others of ancestry from Portugal, Galicia, and southern Spain entered into what was to become Monclova and Saltillo, Coahuila. They are brought under the auspices of the Explorer, Conquistador, and Colonizer Jose Luis Carvajal y de la Cueva, with elements settling in Lampazos and Cerralvo (Nuevo Leon), in Palofox (Texas), and Revilla (Tamaulipas) on the Rio Bravo.
Also, the Count of the Sierra Gorda, Col. Jose de Escandon brought another group of mainly Spanish, Portuguese, and Azoreans in the early 175os, settling along the Rio Bravo (Grande), and then on the north (Texas) side, spreading up to what is now Yorktown, Texas (near and southeast of San Antonio de Bexar, more or less) before and during the Texas Republican period.

My children and theirs are qualified to join the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sons of Liberty, The Sons of the Grand Army of the Union, The Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Daughters of the Confederacy. By my side they are 16th generation English Colonial - American and 6th generation Texian. By my wife's side, my children are 23rd generation northernmost New Spain, Texian, and American. Isolating Texas alone, my grandchildren are 15th generation Texian.

    LIKE?

    Cats, and then dogs.

Fishing, even a bit of bird watching, now and then.

Really good music..antique, old, 1950s and early 1960s rock and roll, classical - Hayden, Mozart, Beethoven, both Strauses, and many others, African tribal sounds en chorus, Mexican bolero...mariachis when they play out-of-doors, some country and quite a bit of the old western (Sons of the Pioneers, the Texas Ploughboys, Marty Robbins "Gunfighter Ballads, for instance.), even some of my own piano works, bagpipes, Enya, marimba, Caribe.
The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess always seemed to me to have been, and remains, a true masterpiece of Americana.

Well maintained Firearms, smooth running small equipment, old autos that respond to repair and upkeep and keep going. Used to have BMWs and so forth, but being old helps tone things down a bit.

Antiques, and antiquities...Meso-American archeology...and religious history. Formal religious services among the Orthodox..as in Anglican, Roman, Orthodox and Conservative Jewish services and celebrations. Hard to find, now.

Overnight radio, rightwing talk radio until it becomes overly tedious and repetitive.

    Weather and climate.

And strangely during the past few years, cooking. Not just barbequeing...but actually dishing up gourmet-type stuff...and gardening to a purpose.

We grow a lot of our own spices for our little bed and breakfast and we specialise in flowerng plants, bushes, and trees that attract bees and literally hundreds of species of common to extremely rare birds to our place.

Lifelong Republican, honourably discharged - United States Army (conscripted).

Now drifted into the position of favouring the amicable withdrawal of Texas from the American Union. My grandchildren are 15th generation Coahuila/Texas by my wife and 8th generation Texas by me and my will is to have them answer for the debt of Texas and not for the debts incurred by the National Socialists who have taken possession of the central government in Washington, D.C.

    DISLIKES?
Any kind of socialism...bolshevik, national, marxist, social democratic, Trotskyite, progressive, ....and any kind of socialist.

The Ku Klux Klan and such types who figure that they have to hate somebody because of how he/she was born. They are just role players, resucitated by the Communist Party USA in the 1920s, whose members are fueled by a well deserved sense of inferiority.

    And almost all social activism.

Almost all labour union officers and almost all labour unions. (There are some exceptions.)

Public assistance of any kind. All welfare and/or charity should and must be privately handled in order to avoid the trap wherein we have fallen, that being the multigenerational slide into the abyss of forlorn hopelessness that is government slavery and dependence. That slide is cheerfully supported by politicians who love to buy votes with other peoples' money.

    Lotteries operated by governments.

Litter, filth, graffiti, gangs, and waiting in line for people using food stamps whil'st they argue with the cashier about how they "need" this or that to be covered...when they have three carts with 450 USD of snacks and things we cannot afford because we are in an 'upper income" category.

Church reformers who want to change my church instead of them going to another church and just leaving me alone.

Medications for boys who are over-active, and medications in general.

Lite beer, lite Coca Cola, fat-free, lo-cal, artificial sugars and sweeteners, anything marked "healthy" on food packages, sugar-free, margarine, and driving 23 miles to buy gasoline over there because it is 2 cents per gallon cheaper.

Any government programme designed to help anybody; 94% of the time the programme winds up morphing into some kind of monster. Then liberals and do-gooders will propose another programme, twice as costly, to cure the ills caused by the first cure-all.

Officiousness, and the term "non-profit", as if there is some kind of moral superiority in the failure to produce wealth.
Physical abuse of an animal, an extraterrestrial, a child, slave, woman, or anything like a tractor or power tool, firearm, sewing machine, or an auto, etc.
Loud and/or sharp noises, especially when such noises have no particular purpose.
Wasting anything, from paper towels to Clorox to cake and cookie batter...anything. And....waiting in a line.
